Really comes down to cost for me, and I'm certainly not gonna disparage Tommy's ability. Tommy T wasn't at his best this year, but dude is still a baller and typically has tremendous placement. His ability to flip the field was tremendous when we didn't have a world class D. He's also a veteran with tons of big game experience. If he does move on, I hope he gets a fat sack of cash and goes to the NFC. Nothing but respect for the man.

I love Omenihu. I kept saying "he's gonna be worth it" even after he had to sit out the first 6 games - and when he got on the field, he was DEFINITELY worth it. That dude is an athlete.. that said, even I would understand why we let him go if we did... yeah, it's unfair and I hate that he got injured, but they have to make business decisions, and that might include letting him go, unfortunately... I hate not resigning Tommy. Him and Butker are a combo deal. The chemistry between them two makes up the kicks that were as crucial as anything for us this year and of years past. Keep Chuck around, with a return around week 8, it would nearly mirror last year's play for him. He was a fantastic addition to the defense when he returned and I think he did enough to be on the team that 3petes for the first time. Especially since he was on the team that got the back-to-back. Andy Reid and Travis Kelce, key to the Chiefs dynasty along with Mahomes, are both underpaid. That’s why I cringe at some of the free agency rumours and salaries required. No way any NFL coach should be getting 50-100% higher than Andy. Travis’ productivity (catches/yards/TD etc) and impact on winning is much better than even most WRs in league, and no player outside of Mahomes should be paid more than Travis.

Cap helps. We release MVS and we have some negotiating. We likely won’t keep all the free agents. Sneed will almost certainly go, but we should be able to keep jones and our core as well as hopefully add a vet DEPENDABLE receiver. Omenihu had a solid season but missing six games right out of the gate for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy isn’t what I would call earning a new deal. He wasn’t there several times when the team needed him. I’m not saying I think the team shouldn’t try to keep him but he needs to check himself before he winds up on his forth football team in six years.

Such great news. It’s amazing how the KC staff is committed to leaving a legacy and indelible mark in the history of the NFL. I love that commitment over just money. Tyreek chose money over legacy…most players do. And he lost out on another ring. I mean how much do you really need to live? If you can’t live a great life on a million dollars a year, you’ll never have a great life. But to create a dynasty, to leave a mark on history that can never be erased, now that’s something worth striving for. (But that’s just my opinion…so for whatever it’s worth.) There is something truly special and unique about the Chiefs organization. Their vision for greatness and the ability of the the owner and management to unite everyone centered on their vision is unparalleled in the current era. Belichick, Brady and the Patriots had some of that magic in that organization. But the Chiefs-there’s something magical going on.
