This Bears-Oilers game aired on our NBC affiliate in Utah. It was fun.

Wow!!! This was just pure awesome. Great Highlight's/Interviews/Commercials. College Football promo, Baseball World Series promo. And Summerall & Madden wrapping things up at the end.

I wonder if The NFL Today was talking about the World Series because CBS was going to become Major League Baseball's network TV partner come 1990. The 1989 World Series was that year, aired on ABC, and that was their and NBC's lame-duck year, having been outbid by CBS for the MLB rights in December 1988.

Tremendous Sunday in the Bay Area. Besides the 49ers winning, the A’s beat the Giants later that night at the Coliseum in Game 2 of the World Series. Two days later came the tragic Loma Prieta Earthquake that devastated the Bay Area and postponed the World Series for two weeks until the end of the month.

I was talking to my siblings and their spouses at Sunday dinner weeks ago: Radio Shack was the bomb in the late 80's/early 90's.

I was in First Grade that year. Sadly, it was Brent Musburger's last season and then got fired after March Madness by 1990.

Per You Are Looking Live: this is because Musburger didn't want to share the plum CBS broadcasting jobs with Jim Nantz.

It's interesting that the No. 1 broadcast team isn't with the Cowboys all the time on the NFC broadcaster.
@cbod14 Жыл бұрын
Because The Cowboys stunk in 89. You don’t send your A announcing team to cover a bad team.
