Drai is seriously top 3 in the league. I think he deserve more respect he is playing insane. Incoming 60+ goal season

better than mack, hughes, makar or kuch..?
@TJJ-lj7wo13 сағат бұрын
@ comparing D to forwards is kinda dumb. Only argument would be like u said Mack kuch or Davo. For me it’s Mack that’s the closest and Drai has 21 goals Mack has 10, and 5v5 stats Drai has 2 more points. Also better defensive metrics, face off%, GWG, high danger chances etc. So RN he is #1 that can change very fast though

100% he's top 5. Pretty tough to not slot mcdavid as #1. Beyond that, there can be arguments for drai, Mack, kuch and a few others. Drai definitely deserves his new salary based on the previously highest paid player.

If I've learned anything over the last two years it's that 90% of fans have no idea about anything other than their team, and even within that group another 50% barely understand their own team.

It definitely applies more to Eastern fans than Western fans, as they typically don't stay up super late to watch the game, they formulate every opinion on Western teams purely on highlights and stats.

Oilers needed time to gel after losing 1/3 of last years roster. It did take a little longer than anyone thought but this team would start to come together

Agree with pretty much everything. The truth is the team was good all season. Our advanced stats and XG were through the roof. Our PDO was like bottom of the league. That means we were playing well, but it wasn’t going in. With Stu Skinner being shook, he couldn’t cover that up. All of this resulted in us having the worst 3rd period in the league, where our bad finishing and bad luck were losing us games we should have won. Despite the chirp, our defence is one of the best in the league statistically. Nurse is now playing his best game, which everyone in Edmonton is so happy for. The Nurse Kulack line has been great. Hyman came back from injury hot. Leon is on fire. While we lost a lot of men, Pod and Kapanen are great. Drai needs to play with European players to aid his clockmaker approach and striker style. I am pumped!

Everything is trending up, i just hope that Bouch injury isn't too bad. Some good waiver claims have really stabilized the overall feel from the team. Plus, both goalies are top-notch right now. Also, I think you can do better with that water bottle drinking. 😉
@darkom706512 сағат бұрын
They started playing Nurse with Draisaitl on most shifts.I think it's helped both of them immensely this year. And the new players are feeling much more comfortable than the start of the year. Podkolzin is looking like this years Klin Kostin and Emberson has been solid also.

Much credit has to go to coaches. Paul Coffee has worked with the new defenders along with Mark Stuart and Oilers are much improved. Glen Gulutzan has worked on the power play which is also improving. Kris Knoblauch has also been a steady quiet leader who seems to be well respected by his players.

what drives me nuts about the nurse hate is that he has been a plus player a majority of his career, and you could argue that it isnt just because hes on the ice while connor and leon are, i mean most of the time connors out hes probably with ekholm and bouchard so its really just some good defense, it just sucks cause he doesnt score like a 9m defensemen, and thats the complaint.. his defense is great but great defense doesnt get you 9m a year, if he gets 50+ points then hes more of a pronger then hes worth 9m any day of the week
@Jasmookie11 сағат бұрын
though his stats in the playoffs last year were abysmal

What my family is like if you aren't good offensively you gotta be good defensively and Nurse never was too good at either until this year that's why he's gotten much hate I bet if he was 4-6m he wouldn't be hated as much as he has been but that 9m is heavily taxing our team I'm glad he is playing really well

I can't remember the last time Oilers defeat Wild, let along in Minnesota, let along a blowout.
@TSandstrom3013 сағат бұрын
That game did not represent anything the Wild actually are so I wouldn't base anything about the Oilers off of it. Wild were depleted missing 4 very key players and being down a d man the whole game, and Oilers had every bounce and bit of luck for them while the Wild had every bounce and bit of luck against them. And on top of all that we just didn't play well and the Oilers did. So that score/game means almost nothing for either team.

They outplayed the canucks in 6 of 7 of those games. Silo s is the only reason that game went past 5 games. But they don’t ask how, they ask how many, and the canucks are a very good team. I just personally don’t think they are built for the playoffs

What do you expect from a team that played until the middle of June? Ask the Black Hawks why they won 3 in five years instead of 5 in five years? Worn out physically and mentally and you got to be in camp in Sept? DUH

Getting harder and harder for the Skinnerittes to keep parroting that Pickard is "just a backup, and not a very good one" isn't it. Some people only learn the hard way.
