Hugh really loved her for herself, absolutely. It was a love with an authentic and absolute delivery, with a burning passion, she did not love another like Ross. Demelza spent her entire life married to a man who loved another woman. Amazing and inspirating work.

First, Thank You for your effort, great job on the edit.... Even though I'm a "Hugh Hater" I can appreciated and applaud your clip. The only connection Hugh wanted was below the waist... :)) and he got it from a wife that seconds before told him she wouldn't allow him to come between her marriage..... I guess between her thighs was fine. I would never defend what Ross did to Elizabeth, it was totally wrong.... I understand why it happened..... He knows he hurt the love of his life deeply and I think made a real effort repair his life with Demelza........That was TWO YEARS AGO and Ross hadn't spoken a word to Liz.... It's a little late for Demelza's revenge sex. So will Demelza be honest with Ross? No way, she'll lie her ass off, because she doesn't want to loose Ross, her marriage, the kids, or Nampara. The problem is Demelza wears her heart on her sleeve so Ross knows without asking..... the poem will seal the deal. Demelza's "slut for a day" will break any trust Ross has in their marriage and because she won't talk about it (sound familiar?) it will drive a wedge that affects them for years. Demelza knows exactly how Ross' adultery cut her to the soul and now she's done it to him.... I don't think that's any thing to cheer about or admire. It's sad.

I don't think Ross does that at all...... I would ask you what is Hugh offering other than his trouser snake.... NOTHING! Easy to type words, could you give me an episode and scene where Ross says something to Elizabeth after the night he spent with her..... or I'd even settle for text he said to someone else..... He hasn't done anything for 2 yrs and you act like it's an everyday happening.... time to "put up" girl. Ross doesn't have to put Demelza's self-esteem down, she's doing a great job all by herself. :)) What if George had caught them in the dunes playing put a baby in me. You keep postulating what Demelza should do, but are you considering what she wants to do??? I think even in the series it's plain she wants Ross and her marriage..... not Hugh. Jenny e.... I agree it was a douche move for Hugh to seduce his savior's wife, but for me it was even doucher for Demelza to give in. How could she give herself to a guy that's praising her husband and offering her NOTHING! It makes no sense! Even more so considering how fast DH made it happen. Demelza went from casual acquaintance, to risking everything in 2.5 episodes. WHAT does Demelza get out of this tryst, other than heartache and guilt? She looses all of Ross's trust in her love and almost looses her marriage. In the book Ross can't even look at her, so he joins Parliament and leaves for 9 mos. He says some pretty pointed things when he returns (I hope Debbie puts them in the script), but basically he considers them strangers now, although he still wants her. Demelza realizes what she's risk and lost by giving Hugh his taste of heaven. I think her long walk after her nooner with Hugh was spent trying to figure out how to keep Ross from finding out.

Ross and Demelza do not feel right for each other anymore you are right. He will never get over Elisabeth so he just needs to let go of Demelza because he cannot give her the loveing relationship she needs or deserves. It all goes back to the night with Elisabeth and his relentless holding on to his past love for her and Demelza feels and remembers every pain of it because he did nothing to hide those feelings from her thus creating such disappointment and pain, the love is now only a memory she hangs on to. At the grave when he met Elisabeth he smiled and kissed her I believe out of some pride and love he felt for her having his son. He says he will not let Elisabeth come between them but he puts there all the time. He needs to man up. Although I do not know how one does that in the point and time they live.
