The Nightcrawlers were an electronic music trio hailing from Philadelphia, consisting of Peter Gulch, Tom Gulch, and Dave Lunt. They formed in 1979 and released close to 40 albums, many of them improvisational synth works, before disbanding in 1991.
To say they're one of my favorite electronic acts of all time would be an understatement. Their music was really responsible for me taking an interest in this whole scene of music, and to top it off they have one of the most consistent discographies of any musical act out there. If you enjoyed this album, I would really recommend seeking out their other works, a lot of which can be found on this channel: / @losament
Tracklist:
A1 - Digitalis 0:00
A2 - Ombra 6:42
A3 - A November Evening 18:10
B - Spacewalk 23:47
If anyone affiliated with this recording wishes for it to be taken down, please let me know. Thank you :]

What another crazy rarity...the Nightcrawlers are a legend for very Berlin School & Ambient fan...for good reasons! They were a fantastic duo doing magic with their analogue instruments. And for 1985 this is an extraordinary recording...its made in their home studio,think all of their cassettes & vinyls are really good,but some are more advanced in the sound quality. There you can hear how they start levitating all around them,ghosh! I like them since long. Just very hard to find these albums. They were as great like Klaus Schulze indeed! Or earlier Tangerine Dream. This here is one of their BEST! Its opening doors to another reality!😂❤️‍🔥🎉😊🤪

I like the one they did with crickets in the background because they recorded it in a garage, and the cricket's noises became part of the sound !
@FromTheRoomOfLittleEase

Crickets will chirp in time with music. Buddy Holly's three piece was recording in a garage and that happened, the crickets turned up on the tape and they liked it so they called the band "Buddy Holly and the crickets." That story is why the Beatles named themselves the BEATles... they intended to play "beat music" like the crikets.
@therealrodhull1
@therealrodhull1 Ай бұрын
@@FromTheRoomOfLittleEase Thanks for that info! Incidentally, on Cricket Lullaby by the Nightcrawlers, the crickets do seem quite loud and clear (just as loud as the synthesizers, if not louder!) - so I cant help being a tiny bit suspicious that their volume wasn't 'enhanced' somewhat... Of course, I'm not suggesting that the crickets volume was enhanced - maybe crickets really are that loud ?! Peter Gulch says that when the music was recorded, live crickets were outside his garage, so they just left them on the recording... But would they be this loud, since they were much further away from the microphone than the synthesizers were. What is your opinion on it?

fun stuff but not sure about "progressive" for 1985. sounds like electronic music from the 1930's to 1970's... Johanna Beyer, Herbert Elmert, Oskar Sala, Steven Halpern, Bruce Miller & Rick Miller, etc... particularly sounds 70's.
