Great clear uncut version of this episode. If you find anymore Nighttime TPIR from 1972 to 1980 that would be great.

Don't tell that to Buzzr, the daytime episodes are being aired from 11-15-1982 onward.

This was most likely Holly's first-ever appearance on the nighttime "TPiR" with Dennis shortly before Bob took over the hosting reigns and pulling double duty with the daytime show and she already had a small mishap at 3:21 when she accidentally bumped the table carrying the car cleaning supplies into the car bumper

Ironically, Mary would win her showcase in the end. In the Money Game, "El Cheapo" fooled her. I watched this episode on KTRK - ABC Channel 13 in Houston, TX. Monday nights 18:30.

I thought for sure once it was shown that Stella was playing _Clock Game_ that it would at least be a 1-of-3 pricing games won show for the Nighttime PiR...and then the poor girl went and got all confused on the first prize value and didn’t win anything. Then of course you had a contestant lose in _Grocery Game_ by a lousy *1¢!* , not to mention the car not being won, making it 0-for-3, a skunk show. At least the silver lining, if there is one, is, I guess, the Showcases didn’t have a double overbid, or any overbid and at least Mary won a little over $11,000.

@4:55, one of the few times Dennis mentions the daytime version.

Uhh...it’s NOT a win at all. Contestant very clearly lost, even if by 1¢.

@@a.grimes4202THAT is what I am trying to say. He ALWAYS declares every loss, no matter how small or close, a technical win.. simply because he hates losing.

This is painful. The skinny mic and the host. Didn't stand a chance. How long did this version last?
@graigmellon787410 ай бұрын
This nighttime version lasted 8 seasons - 5 with Dennis James, and 3 with Bob Barker.

1972 until 1977. Bob Barker took over this version for the final 2 years of the show (1978-1980)

You do realize that Dennis James was supposed to host the daytime version as well, but CBS wanted Barker to do it. Dennis was given the nighttime version.

Bob hated the fur coat prizes later on.

That's his problem - still shouldn't be a reason why Dennis James' episodes can't be aired!

Plus this guy likes to rub it in when they lose, huh

I dunno, he might not emote as much as Bob, but I definitely think he still felt sympathetic when a contestant lost. Imagine if this 0 win of 3 show had ended in a double overbid Showcase round...poor Dennis would’ve been devastated.
