@@nickoffroad it doesnt prevent axle seal leaks. The seals dont leak because of the vent being clogged. They leak because it was a shitty low quality design that failed. I had one side leak before doing the mod. Replaced the seal. I did the mod, nothing to lose right. Well the repaired seal starting leaking again, as well as the other side, and now the pinion seal leaks. This is a low mileage 2wd street driven truck. If you off road through deep mud, do it. @mahatma171 Жыл бұрын
As a tech I have not had the best experiences with Titans. I think the moral of the story is- you should not abuse it. The most egregious one I worked on was lifted, was used for mudding and probably hit the rev limiter more times than we could ever imagine. He blew the radiator after a hard pull (they have pretty intense cooling system pressures that can back up and blow out a side tank), then blew the head gasket as a residual of that. Miserable… I had to work from a step ladder to take it apart. I put it all back together for him, he blew it again 2 years later and asked if he could bring it back in. I refused it. They will run rings around a comparable year F-150 in the power department, so there’s that

Randy, I cannot comment on the gasoline fueled Nissan Titans, but the Nissan Titan XD Diesel is an orphaned nightmare. My best friend purchased one new on August 18, 2017, and with less than 35,000 miles it has been in the dealership shop four times for total brake failures, one of which required replacement of the master cylinder which if not for warranty would have cost several thousand dollars according to the service writer. It has also been in the dealer's shop for turbo charger replacements three times. It has had constant drivability issues from day one that multiple re-flashes to the various on-board computers rarely resolve for more than a few weeks. Today, it is becoming increasingly difficult to find a Nissan dealer with a certified diesel technician who can provide care necessary under the extended Nissan warranty that my friend purchased (I take the truck to most of its garage appointments). There are three Nissan dealerships within 100 miles of where we live, and only one had a diesel technician on staff three months ago when the Titan needed its last new turbo charger. All I can say, is this has been far from being a reliable vehicle.

first gen titans had a problem with the radiator cracking internally and then the coolant would mix with the trans fluid, also the rear diff seals like to blow all the time because the rear diff doesnt have a breather other then that the gas powered titans are pretty good! the same can't be said for the turbo diesel Titans, their DPF get recirculated back into the intake to be re-burnt only it ends up getting completely overwhelmed and the engine just completely clogged!
