People asked me to do a proper and detailed video about my cap charger, so I decided to make one. This is nearly three years of cap charger development and wisdom rolled into one juicy package. Enjoy!

Your explanation is like engineering college professor. R u a scientist or professor

Still in school. Self taught. By the way, since the name is familiar to me, is this an Akash I know?

Nice but how about a simple zvs "mazzili" type of charger ? Driving a ferrite transformer , would be simple and robust I think

I mention in one of my more recent videos about why the flyback topology is more suited to capacitor charging.

Thanks for making a detailed video on charger.....I guess I've to experiment with the component values....... ok I wanted to ask that your previous versions had variable duty cycle, the other one was with variable frequency & there was one with both variable....... so the final charger ( according to schematic) has a fixed frequency & duty cycle?

You're welcome! Yes, the frequency and the duty cycle were variable but only by the user and not as a part of some kind of feedback loop. At that time I was too lazy to get exact values and I had a vision that the oscillator could be unplugged and used for something else like some kind of a module, so I added the potentiometers. You're right, the final version has a fixed frequency and duty cycle BUT the blanking circuit does not let all the pulses get to the gate driver, forming a very primitive feedback loop. I've used a fixed oscillator for the sake of simplicity and also because it can be substituted with any other oscillator with an output enable function.

@@NNNILabs Thanks.....I'll try to make one for my cap bank.
