I fished with a old time guide on Lake Eufaula many years ago. This gentleman had only two rods on his deck. A large spinnerbait and a large texas rigged worm. I asked why he used this combination of lures. He replied, if the bass are active, I am casting the spinnerbait. If the bass are not active, I am casting the texas rigged worm.

They are either suspended or on the bottom is another one.

The moods and personalities of a bass to me is not what makes a bass bite. It’s the ability to apply the knowledge and skill set they’ve developed on the water to know how to get them to bite. Everybody fishes differently and what works for you.

So are you saying there is major difference between pre spawn and spawn regarding moving baits? Confusing if they all don’t spawn exactly at the same time.

The fish most of the time will tell you what they want water clarity weather and time of year is about basic as you can get fishing
