I love seeing how fast Lianfang backed down when Shiyi stepped in. It's unfortunate that the great Madam is incompetent and covered for Lianfang by backing up her lies. She's an incompetent matriarch. She continues to treat Lianfang as the legal wife and Shiyi as the concubine. It's going to take Lingyi stepping in to punish Lianfang by putting her in her place. I was happy to see little miss princess stepping up and advocating for punishment for Lianfang/the seamstress. Shiyi and Nanny Tao deserved justice but the great Madam is incapable of impartiality. Lianfang is only going to get worse because she knows that the great Madam will always defend her.
