I just wanted to say thanks for the video. You hit all the pros and cons with this tent with a sense of humor while still being concise. I was looking for a 1 person tent with a small footprint, double walled, without breaking the bank. We have similar conditions here in North Central Florida as you do in Alabama. Heat,humidity,bugs etc..I usually use a Borah tarp and bivy setup , but wanted something for quick overnighters and hiking into park campgrounds. Your review sealed the deal! I’m very happy with the tent. Subscribed and awaiting your next installment.

Thank you for the sub and all the kind words!! I’m really glad the review helped. In North Florida, what is your “hiking season”?

Usually it’s between mid-October through April, into mid-May if we’re lucky.

Great review, Squid. Looks like the Storm Break 1 is a great tent option.

If you’re ok with a small 1 person tent, it’s an option. 🦑

I really wanted to like one-person tents but I just can't! I bought a Copper Spur 1 person that I planned on using for bikepacking trips but it's a little claustrophobic for me 😂. Great review Squid!

Yeah, I think a 1 person tent is an acquired taste. 🦑

Great video. I was thinking of buying this tent and now I know it's not suitable for me. I'm 62 years old, 6' 240 pounds so I would be miserable in that tent. It's hard for me to find a reasonably priced 1 person tent for backpacking/bikepacking that would work for me. Looks like I'm going to have to opt for the 2 person model. Thanks for showing the great details.

That looks like it is a little too tight for me. I would feel like I was back in the Navy in a middle bunk! Happy Hiking

If felt exactly like a coffin bunk but couldn’t describe it that way because so few people would understand. 😂🦑

Great question! I have had 3 that I really like for different reasons. 1. Zpacks Plexamid (precursor to the Plexsolo) because of the weight 2. Eureka (1 person … forget the model) because it was a great balance between weight and double wall 3. Hyke and Byke Zion 1 person because of the interior space

Nice video. What do you have exactly to get it down to the “trail weight” of 3.1lbs? Everything except the guy lines? Do you have all 8 stakes or less?
@GoneFeralWithSquidlyАй бұрын
Usually, when someone talks about “trail weight” for a tent, it means omitting everything that’s unnecessary which includes stakes guy lines and a footprint. However, some people prefer the manufacturer footprint over other versions, so it’s important to understand what they mean by it. In this case, it’s guy lines and stakes since there was no footprint. 🦑

Can 2 kids (7 yr old) sit in it? Not for camping but just as a play tent.

Yes, I think that would work well. 🦑

Can never understand why 150 bux is considered a budget tent 😂
@GoneFeralWithSquidly5 ай бұрын
With a combination of inflation and comparison to the high end, $150 is relatively inexpensive. 🦑
