I’m so freaking jealous. So many people got a chance to see the Total Solar Eclipse but it was covered by thick grey clouds in Louisiana and I also missed out on the Northern Lights.

The northern lights (Aurora Borealis) can only be seen in the northern hemisphere. The southern lights Aurora Australis) only from the southern hemisphere. You can't see the northern lights all over the world. Yes, they are both caused by the same thing at the same time.

A definite bucket list item. I will never see that here in Hawaii. Going to northern Sweden might be great but it's a hit or miss. Although nothing's guaranteed, it's better than where I am.

@@chelledezeer7261 Wrong. Solar activity causes the spectacular light show. Smog and air pollution actually obscure the Northern Lights. The reason why the lights are commonly visible in Scandanavian countries (besides their geographical location) is because they have fewer people and less pollution.
