The Northernmost Town in the World | Ny-Ålesund, Svalbard

I'm confused. Google says that Longyearbyen is the northernmost town in the world, but i checked Google Maps and it said that Ny-Ålesund is the northernmost town. Why does Google say that it's Longyearbyen?

Ny-Alesund is a settlement where only scientists and researchers live. It is not possible for people to live there.

Indeed, it's a beautiful place, but it is not the Northernmost settlement on earth. There is another one, called Alert in Canada, located at 82°29′56″N 62°21′09″O, permanently inhabited. It’s the most inhabited town in Europe though!

True but longyearbyen is the last real town where you can visit As a tourist 😉
