Outstanding film brought by Robert Eggers ("Lighthouse" director, one of my favorite films), usally his style remains in the psychological and mythological field, but with this film is that and even more, giving us a handful of very well directed combat scenes.
And what to say about the actors? Amazing performance by the 2 main actors, both Alexander Skarsgård and Anya Taylor-Joy do a wonderfull job.

When I watch this, I am like "Welcome to my world!". I have been keenly interested in Old Scandinavia and Icelandic literature ever since 1970-s and 80s. This culture, this lost civilization have deeply influenced my personality, my views, my actions and even life itself.

I hadn’t even seen the trailer till a family member who knew I liked pre-Christian european history showed it to me, and I practically counted down the days. I thought it would be a cool but shallow action movie though I noticed a lot of detail in the trailer. I was completely speechless when I saw it in theaters. I was born too late to remember what seeing Lord of the Rings in theaters would be like, but I imagine it is the same amount of sheer excitement and amazement and appreciation for detail and writing as I experienced in the Northman

That's right @@GojoSatoru_v9 Robert Eggers usually makes movies of a very spiritual and psychological nature. My favorite movie is the lighthouse, one of his films, and I went to see The Northman with great enthusiasm and I really loved it, the performances, history and the choreographies 10/10.
