I forget how clueless we all are when we first start out. I am dying inside when he does not know how to harvest logs in the first part of the video. But he gets the game eventually. We all do.

Here are some tips: 1. Make Snowshoes ASAP. There is a workbench inside the carpenters shop that allows you to make snowshoes with 6 logs and fiber string. Snowshoes are fast on snow, slow on rocks and paths. 2. Get your hunting to the level where you can hunt wolves. Wolves are by far the easiest way to make money in the game besides camping caves with a blunderbuss and waiting for bears to spawn. There are 3 wolf spawns as far as I remember. One of em is at Misty Glacier, which is basically just a straight walk from James Bay, and there are 2 wolf spawns on either side of the mountain next to the criminal warehouse. Which is across the river right of James Bay. There's a bridge you can use to easily cross the gap. 3. Get a friend to play with you. The game is 3 times as fun when your playing it with a friend or with a group of friends. You can help each other rank up your professions and use numbers as a safety net against hostile players. And this isn't a tip, but you can actually play as a Native, there are just some things missing like shields and maces, etc. It's a WHOLE lot different than colonist. It's definitely worth a shot.

Not surprised your playing this. This game is similar to LOTRS in the fact that the game has little hand holding and you can lose items you spent time grinding by being looted. As for that nerd who was toxic at the beginning, northwind is actually a successor of the northern frontier. Which had a very toxic faction playerbase that translated over to northwind. Also similar to LOTRS, there are a bunch of factions that compete for dominance. Most are colonist or native factions with HBC in the mix. And nice vid!

Yes, thats is true. Literally everyone just rked each other in Northern Frontier I have been playing Northwind for a week now and it seems a lot better since players are willing to help me more.

Ay i've also been playing this, I am now serving in HBC as a Colour Sergeant. Alot of fierce fighting due to factions wanting to dominate the frontier. Overall its fun.

looking at this, i would get northwind if i had robux, but i dont have money so i cant buy it, i know that the devs need robux to help fuel the game's development, but what i kinda dont like is, by the time that northwind might be free, almost everyone would be pro already, leaving new players in the dust. but i guess that the pros could give the new players stuff and help them, but it feels weird when you play a free to play game and someone is already max level and 100%ed the game already and you ask them how and they say "i just brought early access"
