Very cool, didn’t realize the Norwegian heritage here. My ancestry is a good chunk Norwegian but they settled in Illinois, before my grandmother moved to Texas. One of the family names is Olson

How clear is it to see out there? Would love to take my kids to see it, i live about 60 miles from there (closer to dallas) but the light pollution is still pretty bad here.

Great video! I think a cool video idea would be you discussing your scouting process for finding these towns and places to visit. I'm guessing you utilize the historical marker database?

Next time check out the Cliftex Theater, the longest continually operating theater in Texas. Also the artwork inside the Bosque Art Center is amazing. Olaf’s and Corner Drug Cafe offer fantastic food.

I knew nothing of Clifton before viewing this video. According to two DNA tests, I am 10-13% Norwegian. Not through Texas, but this is so much fun to connect it with Texas living and heritage... ❤️

Interesting! Had no idea about the Norwegian history! Movie theatre looked awesome! Reminds me of a VERY cool movie theatre in Canadian, Tx! Ever been? 🤔

I look at the beauty of the stonework in the Rock Church [@6:31]. It clearly was built by [or the construction was supervised by] a highly skilled stonemason. And yet, it was built in the backwoods of Texas in 1886. Did they bring the stonemason with them from the old country [Norway], or did he come from soewhere in America? I'm gonna' have to research this ....
