This is a wonderful story about how you prove people wrong. There's a saying, Don't let anyone tell you that you can't succeed. You're a child of God and with credentials like that, You can do anything. There will be haters, doubters and critics and There's you that prove them wrong. I was at her restaurant called, "The Norwegian" and all I can say is what a difference it makes for a great modernized feel good place that you call it great restaurant home. Way to go Emily. You're dad would be very proud of you succeed to success of your goals. God Bless you and your family.

I was in the building prior to the remodel. I have been in the building now with the restaurant open. The transformation is truly unbelievable. I can’t imagine the hard work, the money, the frustration, the incredibly long hours, and the overwhelming obstacles you went through to get to where you are today. Very inspirational and a testament to anyone with a goal and the determination to see their goal realized. Thank you.

As a fellow Scandinavian . Great job . The place is a bright spot for Rockford & The West Side. What alot of Crap you went through! That asbestos stuff is always a scam. But ,you did everything the right way . And now you are one of Rockfords best . YOU ARE A TRUE NORDIC WARRIOR PRINCESS!🇧🇻🇸🇪 🇺🇸 Your Dad's proud. Blessings and keep going !

We never closed. The news outlets falsely reported us closed after not reading a Facebook post in its entirety. Come visit!

I was planning on eating here before the pandemic.. I found out recently threw local that it closed. Unfortunately I never was able to dine here, but I have to say after watching this story and knowing the dedication, every dark night has a bright day.. Hopefully it works in favor for the family, but non the less it was a well made video. I'm confident the owners will pull threw this shit more than they ever have before. One ❤️

We never closed. Local media sources slandered us, and everyone believed it. We just pivoted into a market format to carry our staff through Covid. Hope you'll come check us out sometime!

I wonder why the owners named their restaurant The Norwegian when they are both Swedes.

Hi, Juanita. This is Emily. I am Swedish. My husband is Norwegian. The restaurant is named for him. He is not Swedish.

We never closed. We posted on Facebook that we were temporarily becoming a market to carry our crew through the pandemic. The news didn't read that post carefully. They slandered us and never issued any retractions. We hope you'll visit! (And don't believe everything you read in Rockford).
