Tip for presentation; What I do is split the deck in two exact pile (26 cards each) Then I make the spectator select a pile and select a card from that pile. Then I add the selected card to the other pile. Which makes 27 including his card and makes it much less awkward to explain the "27 cause it's cute".

Here's the order you stack the piles each of the 3 times for EVERY number from 1-27 T-Top M- Middle B-Bottom (Remember to deal with the cards face down and flip them face up) 1-TTT 2-MTT 3-BTT 4-TMT 5-MMT 6-BMT 7-TBT 8-MBT 9-BBT 9-BTT 10-TTM 11-MTM 12-BTM 13-TMM 14-MMM 15-BMM 16-TBM 17-MBM 18-BBM 19-TTB 20-MTB 21-BTB 22-TMB 23-MMB 24-BMB 25-TBB 26-MBB 27-BBB

Yes. Actually it's not really memorizing the order... it's an easy way to figure it out in a few seconds after they name their number. I'm considering making a tutorial.... should I?

i found a working yet simple methode: Start with TTT as 1. For a +9 you go one deeper on the last set, for a +3 you go one deeper on the middle set and for a +1 you go one deeper in the first set. For exemple: The number is 20. Start with TTT = 1; +9 -> TTM = 10; +9 -> TTB = 19; +1 -> MTB = 20. The number is 13. Start with TTT = 1; +9 -> TTM = 10; +3 -> TMM = 13. The number is 18. Start with TTT = 1; +9 -> TTM = 10; +3 -> TMM = 13; +3 -> TBM = 16; +1 -> MBM = 17; +1 -> BBM = 18.

First sort location selection represents the position in the final 3 numbers. So going with the example in the video middle represents 8 (from the minor tuple 7-8-9). Second selection represents the minor tuple of 3 #'s inside the major tuples. In the case of the example it is bottom so the minor tuple is 7-8-9 from the tuples of 1-3, 4-6, and 7-9. The third and final selection is which of the major tuples. Since the major groups are 1-9, 10-18, and 19-27 top (as the example given) represents 1-9. The easiest way (IMHO) to determine the sort locations is divide by 3.

An easy step by step formula to calculate without remembering every combination: 1. See if the number is 1-9 (proceed to step 2), 11-18 (subtract 9) or 19-27 (subtract 18). 2. See if the result is 1-3 (first placement is Top), 4-6 (first placement is Middle) or 7-9 (first placement is Bottom) 3. (Take the groups from step 2) if your result was the first number of any of these groups, the second placement is Top, if the second, then Middle, if the third, then Bottom. 4. Take the original number (from step 1), if the number is 1-9, last placement is Top, if 10-18 then Middle, if 19-27 then Bottom. Example: number 23 1. It is 19-27 so we subtract 18, we get 5 2. It is 4-6 so first placement is Middle 3. It is the second number of the group so second placement is Middle 4. The original number was 19-27 so last placement is Bottom Order: Middle Middle Bottom

DON'T LEARN THE COMBINATIONS BY HEART!! Just learn how to compute them. It's quick and easy. Ask the number to the spectator a bit earlier if you need more time. Example with 18: Subtract 1: 18-1=17 Compute X as 17 divided by 9. You get X=1 and the remainder is 8. Compute Y as the remainder (8) divided by 3. You get Y=2 and the remainder is 2. Finally, Z is simply the remainder (2). --> Your combination is ZYX, that is 221, which means Bottom-Bottom-Middle. (0=Top, 1=Middle, 2=Bottom) :)

If the number is a multiple of 3, the first cut goes bottom. If the number is a multiple of 3-1 the first cut goes middle. If the number is a multiple of 3-2 the first cut goes top. If the number is a multiple of 9-(0/1/2), the second cut goes bottom. If the number is a multiple of 9-(3,4,5), the second cut goes middle. If the number is a multiple of 9-(6,7,8), the second cut goes top. If 1-9, the last cut goes top. If 10-18, the last cut goes middle. If 19-27, the last cut goes top.

You are just making it much harder for everyone the first time when the spectator is going to pick 1 pile put it in the middle and after that put it on the top everytime 3 times then put out 6th cards and his/shes card will be on the 7th
