Don't toss the pink princess into the great compost bin in the sky! I did that a few months ago to mine and actually miss the little wench. By the way "great compost bin in the sky" is hilarious turn of a phrase, which I'm definitely adopting from now on. Will probably forget to give you credit.

Glad you liked the phrase, use it often and prosper! Im trying harder to enjoy my PPP 😂 😬 😄

I am in the middle of something of the same. I have had some big plants up and unalive themselves and I have come to start and hate the way some of my plants grow naturally i.e. the pink. white philodendrons.

Good luck with all your plants 🌱

13:26 what is that one you're putting down at this moment, with the holes in the leaves?? I have this plant and don't know what it is, I rescued it from work
@thebreslin11 ай бұрын
That is a Monstera Adansonii, aka a Swiss Cheese Plant 🌱
@GuacamoleKun11 ай бұрын
@@thebreslin But most of the pictures I see of adansonii have large leaves. Mine, and the one in the video, have leaves about the same size as a pothos.

Captain Jack's dead bug brew, as well as most generalized plant pest treatments, don't have miticide in them, so you have to get a standalone mite treatment.
@thebreslin11 ай бұрын
Thanks for the tip, I will definitely try that 👍

Agreed, miticides are expensive but single treatments even work really well. Also recommend beneficial insects- cucumeris works really well for thrips and minor mite infestations

My prayer plant is going in the trash. Begonia is going downhill but I’m more willing to work with the begonia. I got a microscope to look for bugs and after an hour of fussing with it I have no conclusions. Thankfully my collection is rather small. But ugh there are so many ups and downs with this whole plant 🪴 parenthood haha

I feel your pain, and can’t agree more! Plant parenthood is hard, and it’s never predictable! 😀

The monstera in water is perfect for semi hydro setup (70% pumice and 30% Akadama). Because they already have water roots. Also Pafcal is a great substrate as long as you find a way to tie it down. (If you want to know I can explain) monstera lives really well in pafcal chips. Also, it looks like you just feed water, which is fine for a while. But eventually you need to use nutrient solution in the water. I think that’s why it’s turning yellow. Forgive me giving instructions. I cannot help but verbal diarrhea when I saw your plant.
