So this is why everyone says the NCT is one of the most dangerous. Not because of wildlife (though there is plenty of that), but I can’t imagine how easy it is to lose trail with that kind of clutter. I’m a Michigan native and really, really want to take a swing at the trail but I’m worried about navigation. It’s definitely not my strong suit.

The NCT through MI is marked very well. The trap hills would be the most difficult as far as marking.
