It's kinda crazy to think this album came out nearly 4 years ago, I was in my last year of middle school when the first single dropped and it was amazing. That summer was memorable, but like the story the songs tell, that tail end of the summer really settled down and went out on a melancholy note. Good times to look back on but also some really sad ones too, and that's why I love this album.
@meooowww36722 жыл бұрын
This album makes me miss 7th grade since I discovered Gorillaz a couple months after The Now Now was released. I totally miss that summer too. Ever since 2019, it hasn’t been the same, but this year, summer feels like it’ll be normal again (hopefully) so I’m listening to this album like almost everyday and I love how it feels. It feels like I’m back in my early middle school days:) Other than that, I’m super stoked that I’ll be going to their show since they’re coming to California again :)

I'm actually a 31 year old English teacher who grew up with Gorillaz since I was 10 (AKA Damon Albarn it's actually one guy who gets features to rap/do vocals) so to hear you guys are around the age of my students undergoing such a strange time to be entering "the real world" and this new Gorillaz album (which I just somehow found out about today haha) is helping you guys get through this weird time in human history is amazing. I hope you guys find as much beauty in the many different types of art in the world as possible, because it's my personal belief that is what pushes the human spirit through anything as we create meaning for our lives in an absurd world. If you haven't already, you guys should really check out Plastic Beach album which is amazing, and the Mali Music album Damon Albarn made in collaboration with musicians from Mali. Godspeed fellows!

I remember when Humility released when I was in my art class freshman year of high school and I couldn’t wait to come home and watch it. It was so exciting to see it over and over, and the singles being released then were so fun! I remember the album being released early and I couldn’t wait so I stayed up past midnight to listen to it. Hearing the studio version of Idaho made me cry cuz I loved it live, and wanted so desperately for an official version. Ever since that night it’s been my favorite Gorillaz album and I listened to it just as much as I did Plastic Beach. I hadn’t listened to it in a few years in its entirety until now. It still holds up as my favorite, and it’s just this journey I can’t describe, but it gives such a big wave of nostalgia. I think one reason it became hard to listen to at points was because in 2019 my grandpa passed away and I would listen to Souk Eye at times to help cope. It’s still makes me think of him, but in a positive way. I’m surprised that it’s already almost been 5 years, it still feels like yesterday that it came out. Thank you Gorillaz for being one of my favorite bands!

the albums written by noodle and murdoc reflect what it seems to be an opposite rapressentation of themselves for example: Demon Days (written by noodle): is one of the darkest albums of the group and it was written when she still was a kid Plastic Beach (written by murdoc): is melancholic and full of emotion wich does not fit with the personality of murdoc we have seen but 2-D's album (The Now Now): is more simplistic and groovy. I think its hard to explain why but it fits exactly with who he is actually

It's a shame this has so little views. In my opinion their only album better than this was Plastic Beach, and the Now Now really feels like a sequel to that album. Demon Days was great but I don't think it's aged as well as Plastic Beach, truly a masterpiece. The only song on this album I don't care for is Idaho.

Demon Days is still their number one for me. This is looking like a second though.

Gorillaz has consistently proven they can't make a bad song. Even their worst songs are better than most groups best songs.

@@bigchungusismygod524 literally the best song in the fall. How will gorillas ever make a song better then that?!?

their songs are dead-simple, albarn shits out more songs in any 12 hour period than randy newman, and thats saying something.

Gz songs have this quality that they get better the more you listen to them. but you gotta give them some time to sit.. usually the first time i hear one of their songs i am like that was alright, days or weeks later i am giving the same song chef kisses... Facts, not my opinion.

Old school ride or die fan. There will always be time to catch up, because they'll always be good. Walked into this without knowing what it was and was like, "OK, KZbin. This one's a winner. I'm wildly intrigued." Well, it's just a new gorillaz so of course.

I like it better when not every song has a special guest, like in this album. That´s the reason why I don´t like Humanz and Song Machine. I feel that The Now Now is a really good one.
