Hey Chris, I too was there with Steve Horn. I actually walked in with you one day and didn't realize who I was chatting with til I looked up to say have a good day and bye to you. Never thought I would meet a youtube celebrity while there training. I, like Steve, took the 5 week tech training course and I am now currently working for a private RV dealer as an RV technician. I often mention you as a very strong and solid resource for many of our first time RVing customers. I know back about 3 years ago I turned to one of your videos about bearings and from that day forward I have done them myself. So rest assured your videos really are a source of knowledge and inspiration to be able to handle many of the jobs we encounter while RVing. Best of luck in the future and can't wait to see what the future holds for you guys. Thanks again.

Thanks for sharing your story - it's great to hear how the NRVTA training is making an impact! Appreciate you passing the channel on to others too. I Think I remember chatting with you. Maybe I’ll see you again out there on the road one day! Safe travels

I was there for the 5-week technician class when you were there. I enjoyed meeting you and was very happy with the education I got there. They put a real emphasis on learning how to properly diagnose problems right from the start instead of just guessing and throwing parts at a problem. The school offers a lot of great support after you finish and pass the certification exam. I am at the very beginning of getting the business up and running but, as it is winter now here in NJ, I expect to get busy in the spring. I have done some jobs already it is just not super busy this time of year. I appreciate your videos and thanks for all the helpful; knowledge you pass along.

That is awesome! You are totally right about everything. Good luck with the business! You are going to love it once the spring hits and everybody starts RVing. I’m glad we had a chance to meet while I was there too.

I did the fundamentals class a little over two years ago (wife wanted to also, but was a per person charge at the time). While relatively handy, I was not strong on electricity - but I'm a lot better now after the first two days of the class. The class is not cheap, but it has paid for itself in giving me the ability to take care of a lot of the regular maintenance, some repairs, and when to call a tech - which frankly I've only had to do twice (one slide issue, one AC replacement).

Even if you diagnose a problem that you can't physically or don't feel comfortable doing yourself the education of being able to diagnose it and not get screwed out of your money is great as well

Hi, I'm Troy. I've been watching your channel for a while and learn a lot of things I live in Gatineau, Québec in Canada and I got my RV parked permanently in a nice campground we spend summer time there as much as we can. And just wanted to say hi and thanks for the videos and loved to see the tugboat. I didn't know you guys stayed on there for two weeks I thought you guys did a 8 or 12 hours shift very interesting. Love to see a little more of what you do. And love to watch your videos and learn stuff. I can't wait to see your new RV and learn more about that. Well, take care and see you on your next video

I kind of miss Cookie Fridays at the NRVTA. Just curious, how many crew members does it take to run the tug?
@WhyWait12 күн бұрын
On this style tug we do 4 crew members. Other tugs here are usually 5 men up to maybe 7 on offshore tugs pushing oil barges.

What is the size of the crew on your tug?
@WhyWait11 күн бұрын
We run a four man crew on this tug. It’s specially designed for doing ship work. We bring the big container ships in and out of the harbor 24/7. Other tugs here have larger crews and move up and down the coast.
