More than a decade ago, when I was in my teens, I went with a friend to Aswan and Luxor. Owing to a knowledgable father, I was already conscious enough to know that those in the north (aka Cairo) were not Black - they were invaders. And those, particularly in Aswan were the real people of Kemet. Gentrification doesn't only occur in the US or UK, the practice is widespread wherever the coloniser lays his sword and flag. South Africa is an excellent example! I was so proud that I went to Kemet back then, I learned so much and interacted with my Aswan brothers and sisters....even took a trip on the nile in their local boat. By the way, that tour guide does not look Nubian, he looks more like a Turk Arab. It would be interesting to knwo whether there are indigenous tour guides.
