In the Russian version of Nutcracker, there is no Sugarplum. 'Clara' is called Masha (nick name for Maria) and she dances as the princess with her prince after they travel to the Land of Sweets in Act 2. So Masha truly is the star of the ballet, instead of the typical American version portraying Clara as a little girl with the ballerina being Sugarplum. Both have their places and both can be done beautifully. When a child is as gifted as Lada, or Ksenia before her, the Masha role is perfect!

I see she started quite young. 4 and on point by 6 I think you said. A very strong young lady and very very good. A joy to watch. I am sure you must have a good company doctor to care for your young dancers. So people should not worry so much about them. It is quite clear you take great pride in them and care for them.
