Again, look at the actual details, not just what people who enjoy shitting on the Jets summarize the situation to be. Reddick was fine with just playing this season for the Jets when he came to us. He was specifically asked about it and he said he would give his all regardless of how long he was here for. Then he decided to go back on that and demand to be paid, when he has NO leverage. He doesn't have guaranteed money, he has $1.7 million in fines accrued so far and if he doesn't play this year, he isn't going to get a big long term contract as he enters his age 31 season. An the Jets have a lot of good young players who are going to need paying in the next 2/3 years. You can dump on the Jets, but why didn't the Eagles want to sign him, what about the Panthers or the Cardinals? Why didn't they give him a long term contract.

The Jets have done a lot to improve the team. If your starting QB goes down 4 plays into the first game of the season, most teams would struggle. We still managed to win 7 games with Zack Wilson as QB.

What happened to Rodgers last year severely was unfortunate...Rodgers season lasted less than 1 beer. Unfortunately it appears that Saleh is on the hot seat, Rodgers is most likely done in 1 more season, and you will still be stuck Woody Johnson and his less than stellar capacity as a head owner of an NFL franchise.🤷

@@johnpenley why isn't it? We have a HoF QB who doesn't need to be his MVP best to win. We have a beast of a running back in Hall, who, even with a stacked box last year came damn close to a 1000 yards. An elite WR in Wilson who has had 2 1000 yard seasons with a rotation of crap QBs. We have other good options around him, Lazard has had proven success with Rodgers. Mike Williams, Tyler Conklin are all decent weapons. The offensive line has been revamped but Moses, Tippmann and AVT have already had good seasons with us. We have Tyron Smith at LT and behind him, 1st round pick Fashanu. Defense wise, beyond getting Reddick in, our defense is elite and has proven so the last 2 years. Yer you don't think we are destined for a SB run? Saleh is on the hot seat, rightly so. But barring injuries, he has the team to succeed. I'm not sure what team you are looking at exactly. Or you just like hating on the Jets which, well good for you if that's true. Do I think we are going to win it? Probably not, a lot has to go right and no one is going to bet against the chiefs and their mentality, but again, barring injuries, how many teams have better rosters?

Here's the thing with Reddick. He's been on 4 teams in his (relatively) short career despite producing at a high level every single year. There HAS to be more to the story, especially considering Philly, his home town team where he supposedly wanted to be, couldn't get it done and they ALWAYS get it done when they need to cuz Howie is a cap wizard. Carolina didn't want him. Arizona didn't want him. Philly didn't want him. Is he a bad locker room guy? A malcontent? Just wants too much money? I don't know, but there's got to be a reason why no team wants to keep him despite him producing at a high level his entire career.

The media is definitely in love with him because he sparks views, but I'm honestly exhausted of him and his weird interview comments and retreats/vacations during training, plus him basically being the reason certain players are being brought in, only for them to see little to no play as soon as Rodgers was injured, and so on. This being added to that feels like a harbinger of more drama behind the scenes than happened on camera last year.

I mean you have cut out a lot of the details there. The Jets offered him a contract before we traded yes...he rejected it. The Jets said any further contract discussions would have to wait until at least mid season. Come April, Reddick is in the building, giving a press conference saying he will give his all for however long he is here. He is specifically asked about his contract and he acknowledges it could just be for a year, but again, he will give his all for the time he is here. Thats April, that was the only time he ever came to the Jets facility. Come May and the Jets get rid of JFM, suddenly Reddick wants a contract now. Whether the Jets want to offer him one or not, they have said they will not negotiate with someone who doesn't come to the facility (not an unreasonable ask), but he isn't coming in. Instead he is amassing an absurd amount of fines, when he has no leverage. If he doesn't come in, the Jets won't discuss a contract. If he doesn't play, he doesn't get paid (he has no guaranteed money) and in 2025, he will be 31. He won't get the kinda money he is after (reportedly 25-28 mil a year) if he doesn't play. Also, he is just playing out the last season of the contract he signed. As a Jets fan, I do wish the Jets had just kept Huff, but we have Wilson, Sauce, Johnson, AVT and Hall to pay big contracts to in the next 1/3 years. We are not going to pay an aging pass rusher elite money over 4 years (again what I have seen he is asking for) and given the Jets traded away a 2026 3rd round pick for him (not a lot) it's likely there wasn't a big queue of teams desperate to trade for him. So I don't know where his market is. It's not the Jets fault he hasn't been paid properly yet. Why didn't the Cardinals, the Panthers, the Eagles want to give him a long term deal? He has been a good player for them, yet they didn't opt to re-sign him. I wonder why. However much you want to dunk on the Jets, they took a calculated risk and unless Reddick wants to cut his nose, it still makes the most sense for him to play this year. He can ball out in an already dominant defence and put a case for someone to pay him close to the money he wants. JD has made mistakes for sure, but I bet he factored all this in and still made the trade.

The Jets screwed their entire organization the moment they added Aaron. He is a distraction that is fixated on himself and his out spoken belief's. This current Jets organization may go down as the worst in its history. They give a Starting QB the farm with player and coaching say so, pay him most of their available salary $$$ and for 2 years the guy hasnt played but a couple downs and has alienated the remaining roster to the point many want out of town. What a complete bust Rodgers has been but hey the guy will make sure the absurd quote of the week belongs too him.

Jets are always going to Jet. The problem with Reddick is he is a one trick pony. Look at his work against the run. Don't waste your time, he goes invisible. Look at the Eagles defense last season against the run. Terrible. They could have kept Huff and Myers for workable cash.
