That whole anti-beam coating was first mentioned in Zeta Gundam but was actually cutting edge 0079 technology... as such it is possible that the beam rifle fire was lessened by what you are supposed to be aware of already existed and that is something that a tiny hip fire RPG can do a lot of damage to... because that RPG is still highly explosive... and were talking about tiny weapons (as depicted in 8Th MS Team) that can take down a Mobile Suit or cause a chain reaction if it hit the right place.

It was probably a matter of cost. It's always been implied that i-field generators are really complex to build and take a ton of power. Neo--Zeon at this point was very limited in resources.

My guess is Alpha Azieru is an experimental NT use prototype, its not really design for actual combat. And with a small output generator(for mobile armor), it can't have an i-field generator. But its very maneuverable, its speed is its defence.

So, I never really looked into it, and I saw a comment that the α Azieru had foldable "arms" under it's shoulders, but I always got a Zeong feeling from this unit. Sure, it's a decently powerful Mobile Armor, but if the funnels are taken out, I'm not so sure it would be able to survive for long. Maybe due to time and financial constraints, there were pieces left off that could of greatly improved the unit? Or am I just get ahead of myself?

That’s the thing with funnels, they’re very hard to take out and they either have onboard reactors or can charge off the suits reactor. There are also on board beam cannons like the wired leads on the shoulders and the face mega particle cannon but those are support weapons. The thing is designed around the funnels.

How the Azieru looks easily beatable just shows how good CCA Amuro is. Funnels aren't supposed to be taken out easily at all. You can see how no other mobile suit aside from the Nu was able to touch the MA's funnel.

The funnels move in an unpredictable pattern in UC. Almost life like. That and a newtype's spatial awareness and precog makes the combo so deadly. Which is why they're much deadlier than their AU counterpart like the dragoon. Them getting shot down by Amuro means he's really that good.

Using the Zeong in Dynasty Warriors Gundam 2 against this made it SO trivial if you got close to it since it was usually the slowest at trying to smack you or pull away unless it was already in motion. You didn't even need its special attack, the 3rd charged attack did some serious damage even when it wasn't flinched since it was such a fat target.

It's fine with your opinion about Quess as others having the same, but it's alright for those who see Quess differently and have come to know and possibly love her Hathaway, Quess, Katz, and other UC characters may have been created to be despised at first, but there's more than meets the eye as the saying goes. It's easy to judge a book by its cover without actually looking into it, by just reading it. And by reading it will rise with many questions and curiosity. And when it comes to finally understand and whether to accept it or not. If accept, then you will begin to love it. If not, then it's fine and you can hate it all you want It's hard to understand at first when we first see her for what she is like to the viewers, until reading both Beltorchicka Children novel and its manga adaption or watched her character analysis videos here on YT by both Zeta Rise and Glory to Queen Haman Karn Quess, as well as Hathaway do come in with various opinions and feelings for how they represent and how they reflect to the eyes of us, the viewers

今の設定ではIフィールドジェネレーターは搭載されてる事になってるそうな ミノフスキー物理学というかIフィールド関連は90年代初頭に後付けされたものなんで、それ以前の作品の制作時には存在すらしてなかったから仕方ないというか シャアのネオジオンはただでさえ少数精鋭だし、その中でも虎の子であろうNT専用大型MAならまあ積んでないと不自然になっちゃったというか 逆シャア上映時点までで明確にバリアっぽいもので防いでると描写されたのは1stのビグザムくらいで、今では当たり前に搭載されてる事になってるサイコガンダム＆同Mk2やクインマンサでもそういうもので防いでる描写は無かったりする 普通にビームでダメージ受けてたり破壊されてたり、斉射を防いでるシーンでも肩のバインダー閉じて防御姿勢取って受け止めてるみたいな感じ 次の劇場作品のF91ではようやくラフレシアがビームバリアーで弾いてるけど、その時点でもまだ「Iフィールド」って単語は出てなかったそうな その割とすぐ後に発売が始まって、最終巻がその翌年後半辺りに出てた0083でようやく、今イメージされるような不可視のバリアで反動受けつつビーム弾いて「Iフィールドか！」ってのがやられるようになった具合 そっからプラモやらの説明書で搭載してる事にされてるMAやMSが増えてった まあ、動画見ると分かるように、仮にIフィールド積んでてもアムロ相手じゃ結果は変わらないってオチではあるけど なんせファンネル全部撃墜されて、左右の有線式メガアーム砲も片方潰されてたとかだから…どれも本体から離して使う武器で、実際に有線アームも離してるとこで破壊されてるから、本体防護のIフィールドがあってもこの辺覆らないしね 後の致命傷となる首元動力パイプにダメージ通す武器についても、グレネードやバズーカといった実弾でも良いわけで

I recently watched this to learn more about Hathaway, but my gosh, Quess is the character that makes me say the biggest F*** YOU all the way across the damn known galaxy. One thing is this, one thing is that, one thing is "Char-Senpai, your girlfriend slapped me, please notice me instead of the other dead girl, sob sob". Seriously, at this point, I felt like Char placed her in the machine just so she could be a big target to get rid of it. I would at that point.

I don't know if the rumors I've heard over the years are true or not. But the idea that this movie was supposed to be a full length series are very believable. The pacing in the film is necessarily awful and we never really get a chance to know any of the new characters in the film because there just isn't time to develop them. :( Take the pilot here. This girl is pretty easy to hate because basically all we know about her is that she's a newtype, she tries to get with Amuro, he reject her cause she's like 15, and so she joins Char who leads her on like a toy until she gets killed.

And the Nightingale was a real, living nightmare to both Amuro, Bright and the rest of Londo Bell in Beltorchicka's Children. Since it started to be more of a match to Amuro's Hi-Nu (originally, referred as the Nu before renaming as "Hi-Nu" to avoid confusion and to also distinguish themselves), plus his Gundam was starting to suffer as it was having some technical difficulties, that made it easy for Char as he was gaining the upper hand. Only it took a real miracle from Amuro & Beltorchika's baby with its Newtype powers to help Amuro beat Char in a way, where he retreated to his Escape Pod and Amuro is able to get a hold of him and shoved it to his Axcis rock, while trying to push it away (just like in the movie) But their final moment on with Axcis asteroid was pretty different as it's more heartfelt and sad in the novel and manga of CCA.

Context is everything The Jegan that was on the Azieru was Hathaway trying to calm her down. Chan was in the Re-GZ and didn't actually know what was going on. She saw the MA distracted and took a shot. Quess tried to save him because she thought the resultant explosion would kill Hathaway. In return, Hathaway shoots down and kills Chan to taking out Quess...which started that whole Hathaway's Flash affair years later :U

I think her issue was she got WAY to much screen time for a film she JUST appeared in and became a focal point between Amuro and Char And the fact the executive meddling changed her death from Hathaway doing it to Chan, who NEVER existed in the original novel, who then died by Hathaway leading to his degradation of a character and making him come off EVEN worse Her use in the film LITERALLY dragged down other characters
