I’m a younger person, but something I’ve noticed from older music, especially from the 70s and some 80s, is how masterful the arrangement and mixing were. Even if the recording equipment wasn’t the best, they arranged their songs accordingly. They played instruments damn good back then, too. Something about those analog days just hits the spot. In modern digital music it’s hard to find a song that is well mixed and mastered in this fashion, even amongst industry professionals. It’s more “empty” now, there’s often something missing, and sometimes the frequency is even headache-inducing. Nevertheless I enjoy music from all eras, but it seems this style of music recording among popular genres hasn’t been passed down… I would love to hear about what changed from veterans in the industry.

Bands don't play music like they used to. Drum machines and synthesizers have taken over. A synthesizer cannot match live horn or string arrangements. And a drum machine cannot match a live drummer and live percussion instruments.

This WILL make you cry and say "WTF happened to music?" This IS true music! Miss this sooo much. Today's music has nothing to say, nothing worthwhile to listen to, it's a damn shame!

Absolutely NOTHING to say. I honestly enjoy salsa and all Spanish grooves but gospel fills me the most.
@KFilippi25255 ай бұрын
@@nomorealarmclocks I meant today's English music in general. Like there's no more Motown, good music in general. Other language music at least kept their love language, ours didn't unfortunately.

A #5 hit for The O'Jays in January/February 1976. It went to #1 on the Rhythm & Blues charts and the Disco charts. It went to #7 on the Cash Box charts. Outside the US, it went to #9 in Canada and to #13 in the United Kingdom.

That was such an awesome time for music ..... this song was in the pop top 10 as the same time as songs like 'I Write The Songs', by Barry Manilow, 'The Theme From 'Mahogany'' by Diana Ross, and 'Love Rollercoaster' by The Ohio Players ..... take me back to 1976!

@ConsumerWarrior *THURSDAY JULY 9 2020 1:48 PM CDT* I think you have gotten the wrong idea mister. Sure they said, "I Love Music", but you missed what they said after that. They also said, "Any kind of music". So not only were they referring to "this kind of music" as you put it, but ALL kinds of music, my friend. 😒 Tony 59-year-old Black Air Force VET 🇺🇸✈

I am a big fan of the disco, funk Era but I must say that soul music takes it a step further . Soul folks deserve plenty of credit indeed. There won't be another Marvin Gaye around to come up with I heard it through the grapevine or brother, brother..... Gosh how talented these people were!!

I'm so grateful that the Philly Sound was part of the soundtrack of my upbringing. Hearing songs like 'I Love Music' gives me great joy and refreshment in my adult years to reminisce fondly on those days. Major thanks for the artistic vision of Kenneth Gamble & Leon Huff, and to the inimitable sound and style of the mighty mighty O'Jays.
