Saw COG play last night and had to revisit this song. It's a crime that they never continued to make music. This was the perfect evolution of COG into a more modern sound and its mindblowing.

Couldn't agree more! Having said that if COG had come back and released more songs like The Middle I'd be loving life but they revisited 2 old songs after and nothing more from either band. Just need something new 👏

LYRICS of the last part of the song: I’ve been making my way to the finish line Like a hurricane racing to arrive I’ve been moving on Got a ticket home And what I leave behind I’ll just let it go I’ve been making my way To the finish line And it drips me on If I’m out of time I’ve been moving on, and I’m coming home Cause I realised what I didn’t know I’ve been making my way TOGETHER WE CAN TRANSCRIBE THE WHOLE SONG!!

4 жыл бұрын
in my humble opinion, ‘incredible’ is a massive verbal understatement (unless followed by multiple exclamation marks :) ). what Flynn and Luke, together with Troy here, have been producing across the years-also as C.O.G.-in terms of music, lyrics, sincerity, is-in my world-the top-most league of TOOL. not too many bands or musicians there.

apparently, such beings do exist (nature has proven many times it has a rather skewed sense of humor) and i’m really curious about their reasons for investing the time and effort to express their dislike, even if all it’s taken was a single down-vote click. if one engages enough to let the world know they don’t like, i’d expect the dislike to be quite prominent. but still, in the end ‘de gustibus non disputandum est’…

LYRICS: (Suggestions appreciated!) Oh well, I always looked ahead rather than behind me I didn't understand nothing ever lasts me But I'm changing the tune and that's given me a new plan I'm back at the start again once upon a time and... I never stopped to look at what it took just to get this far Oh well, I never stopped to look at what it took just to get this far Yes I was walking with an off beat point of view And even Ravi Shankar knows it's true That I have found new life You see it's feeling that a change has come for free Rather like an old friend calling me Yes I have found new life Up and away, up and home Feeling I've arrived Up and away, up and home Wave my past goodbye How (did you get to tomorrow) (did you get there tomorrow) How (did you get to tomorrow) Up and away, up and home Feeling I've arrived Up and away, up and home Wave my past goodbye I never stopped to look at what it took just to get this far Oh well, I never stopped to look at what it took just to get this far I never stopped to look at what it took (just to get this far ) I never stopped to look at what it took (just to get this far ) Oh well, I never stopped to look at what it took just to get this far Oh well, I never stopped to look at what it took (did you get to tomorrow) Oh well, I never stopped to look at what it took (did you get there) Oh well, I never stopped to look at what it took just to get this far (did you get to tomorrow) - Ooh, I've arrived, move on. Wave my past goodbye, so long Ooh, I've arrived Wave my past goodbye... ** background line, can't make it out ** I've been making my way to the finish line Like a hurricane racing to arrive I've been moving on, got a ticket home And what I leave behind, I'll just let it go I've been making my way to the finish line And it trips me up if I'm outta time I've been moving on and I'll do it whole 'Cause I've realised what I didn't know I've been making my way...

First of all... Many thanx for your version / attempt of lyrics. so far it sounds great Im not a native english speaker, so it is probably "bowsheet", but I believe that missing parts could go somehow like this: Yes I was walking without a big (or "peak") point of view (or maybe "a weak point of youth") And even had to change God knows its true These are just suggestions, so It could help.
