I'm from Odisha, from Childhood i with my family observe Karthik purnima. During this day, we used to wake up at 4 am, have a bathe, with paper boats would go to nearest river and chant which is symbolic like give blessings when sailors departing to Bali and other places. The sailors were called as 'Sadhavas'.

Great to know. Maybe you should explore it more with your elders and write something about it? We need to understand and absorb these things, and who better than someone who has experienced it in some way.

90% of India - Fan of Shah Rukh Khan. Me - Fan of Sanjeev Sanyal. If he were a vending machine I'd never stop putting coins in him to hear him keep talking. Soooo much info first hand--driving around the country!!!wow

I get your fascination towards Mr Sanyal, he's a gem of a writer. But comparing him with SRK is not apt. They are entirely from different fields. Regards.

@@mimamsa5557 was not being serious , but felt it to be incongruous. Or maybe I am too stupid to understand such metaphors. Anyway, we both are in awe of Sanjeev sir's writings. We're on the same page there.

I am from Odisha and I have lived very close to where Amish used to live as a kid, while doing my UG in an engineering school about 10-20 miles from Kansbahal. I love both of your works. More power to you both for writing about Indian history in a way we never read or appreciated it!

It's fascinating to hear about the estuary of Kutch (ancestral lands that my clan comes from). Thanks for this conversation. - I see here many wonderful Identity-‘stretching’ observations and questions through this human struggle of push and pull, through comparison, through give and take, or give and receive - between which something new, balancing, resolving, evolving, loving, and beautiful is now arising. 🔥🌓⛈🌦🌈🌞🌿💫 We may wish to ask the question to our human soul region... “What is this something new and loving that is arising in my soul at this time? show me”. This is the key to the vital transformation from industrialised materialism to altruism (or rather a 'spiritualised' materialism - natural elements inside and out). We are being given an opportunity to process our old memories through feelings, so I must add that it takes individual effort in feeling all our human feelings too, not just to know it as facts, figures, and ideas. Time to churn the 'poison' from our oceans; our bodily waters of the Feminine, where utilised memory pictures reside. - Thank you for bringing this vital inspiration through brothers Sanjeev and Amish.

The history of the Maratha Navy needs mention in our history books which was built up from scratch by Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj at the ports of Chaul and Kalyan. his admirals defeated the British the Dutch and the Portugese in many battles along the coast of Maharashtra and Karnataka. The Siddhis at the Janjira fort came from Abyssinia and tried to convert the locals to their religion by force. Many of the locals were taken as slaves and sold in the markets of Arabia. All this came to a Stop with the rise of Maratha Naval Armour.Their Admiral Kanhoji Angre defeated these Foreign Powers with far superior navies at Vijay Durg Fort near Sindhudurg in Maharashtra. His HQ were at Colaba fort near the then Bombay now Mumbai, where huge warships were sunk in the sea. These powers were in awe of the Angres and paid royalty to him to navigate along the coastline. This finds mention in their court documents and edicts. If not for the Maratha Navy our entire coastline would have been dominated by these Foreign Powers. There is a mention of the Maratha Navy sailing right upto the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.Let's try to put more light on their exploits for our future generations to know that we have defeated foreigners many times over. Jai Hind Jai Maharashtra.

Amish Sir. Pranam 🙏🏽 Makardhwaj was given Patal Lok by God Ram. Take a globe and pin it from India to the other corner... The opposite end has Honduras. Honduras has the Lost City Of Monkey God. And Patal Lok was considered exactly below the earth. Also Bhet Dwarka ( mentioned by Sanjeev Sanyal as a huge port) has the temples of Hanuman and Makardhwaj, is considered as a way to reach the Patal Lok.

So the idea that an Avatar of Vishnu brought Earth from a sea means that Ocean levels were way too high at a certain point in time... It's like how Dashavtar shows evolution.

History that is taught in schools is not about Delhi bias, it is rather about Islamic bias. Since Center of Power of Islamicists was Delhi, our history was written with Delhi bias. This Islamic bias is ailing our entire thought process.
