Well boys what do you do with Lukas Reichel? He seem's to look unmotivated and lost at times this year.... this was a video I never would've never thought i'd have to make when the season started LOL

Ik brotha, I also recognize he’s got 3 goals in 46 games, sometime in Rockford is much needed, and like I said in the video, if nothing changes with time I could definitely see Davidson trading him, he’s shown before that he’s not afraid to trade young talent if it doesn’t seem like it’s working

Now that he is back on the Ice Hogs and the coaches are letting him play his game the way he plays it best, he is kicking ass.He might not be putting them in the net, but he has woken up the team and others are now skating with him and picking up speed they completely lacked earlier in the season. He is one of the most popular players on the Hogs team and one of the last to leave when at the season ticket banquet. I believe the Hogs are glad to have him back and he is happy to be back. The Hawks coaches kicked him to the curb, it is on them, not Reichel. Pretty boy Beddard gets all the attention. Last season they played him where he had his strengths and it showed with 7 goals 8 assists and 15 points out of 23 games.

Lukas’ biggest problem is him getting stuck on the bottom six and Richardson asking him to play a style of hockey he’s not built for, a style he has never played in his career. I know Richardson has said he has to earn ice but there’s no way for him to put up points when he’s asked to forecheck first

#1 Last season he had Atahnasiou, Domi, Kurashev and or Raddysh for linemates most times. Always had bona fide NHL level guys who could hang with his speed and play make with him. It was dangerous. This year they had him with Bedard for a minute until Richardson realized we can't have all the scoring ability on one line and broke them up. #2 The coaching staff are well documented asking him constantly to use his speed to go wide when clearly he is best cutting through the D up the middle. #3 Coaching staff have implemented an F3 high offensive scheme. This is a defense first minded offensive scheme. When Reichel wins puck battles low he has no support. When he busts up the middle they are mad because they want him to go wide (CONFLICTING COACHING - We need more Offense from you but not like the way you are best at it). #4 His linemates this year are unable talent wise to keep up with him or even get a pass to his stick (cement hands Entwistle as his center for one and puck hog Gutman for awhile there as well). Reichel is on the same talentless team as all the other Hawks and his linemates are a drag on him. PLUS with Bedard out injured of late...all they need to do is shut HIM down and he is on the 3rd or 4th line so it's not hard to do. #5 He's up for a contract at the end of the year. Hate to say this but...Tank his season and he comes to be resigned a LOT cheaper than if they had allowed him to be the player he can be and score 30 goals with 40 or 50 points. That frees up more money for future parts of the rebuild and they lock him in knowing that he IS good and WILL be a good player...but not until THEY let him. This is as much the Hawks coaching and management decisions let alone the fact that he was looked at as "the guy" until Bedard came on the scene. When that happened EVERY HAWK PLAYER deferred to Bedard despite all of his bad blue line passes and giveaways. It became the Connor Bedard show for the Hawks and the NHL and there was no room for ANOTHER guy who was young that could pop 30+ goals but not as compelling of a "Story". A LOT to unpack here but I think I hit on all the key points. Too many times Lukas DOES what they are asking but with the linemates he has it is all for nothing and rather than put him back on the top line and let him ALSO develop further they have chosen to demote him for all the reasons above. It's sad. The kid has skills and talent that are just being wasted over a coaches issue or a money issue and you gotta believe that crap would get to a 21 year old kid's head who hasn't even played a full season's worth of NHL games himself yet. Whew!

I believe the problem with reichel is bedard. All last year he was looked at as the guy to lead this team and before he even got a chance he was kicked to the curb along with a sophomore slump like a lot of players have. I also don’t think sending him down helps anymore. Besides there’s no one else to bring back up really. It’s an unfortunate thing but I believe reichel can turn it around.

I think his biggest issue is all of the stuff that the coaching staff and management asked of him to do. Gain weight in the offseason, play more defense, get more physical, etc. He’s tried doing that and it’s proving that what they’re asking him to do isn’t mashing up with the kind of player he is and meant to be. It’s basically like telling a 7-footer nba player who is a defensive player to shoot threes. It doesn’t pair well

Why would you give up on a player who obviously has promise. Keep him around and he will improve along with the team.

I know he has promise, they should definitely give him some time, time in the ahl, 3 goals in 46 games is very concerning, all I’m saying is I wouldn’t be surprised if Davidson was to trade reichel if his underperforming continues, as we’ve seen before he’s not afraid to make moves with young talent if it doesn’t seem to be working out

Not sure if any of the comments were about after his last return from Rockford but he looked different. His checking was greatly improved, he looked more aggressive on the puck, and seemed to be in the right spot at the right time a lot more often. And that break away goal...damn.

Sadly I’ve heard that he doesn’t mash well with Richardson so maybe a change in a trade might be there only option from this point I don’t know get another first for a few prospects maybe?

Hockey runs in the family, his uncle Robert Reichel was a famous Czech international, his dad Martin represented Germany. I was stoked for him too, had him on my fantasy keeper, long since dropped... To me it seems the Hawks are misusing his talent.

Couldn’t agree more, the team is largely to blame for his season long slump, his demotion to Rockford should of happened months ago, instead they kept him up as a healthy scratched or they would play him 7 mins a night….

@@MSZFilms Tbh I dont watch that many Hawks' games, but when they played Boston early in the season he was at least visible on the ice, logging decent minutes, driving the play and shooting the puck. Later in November he was already scratched. Lately I watched the Rangers game and I had a very hard time noticing him on the ice at all, buried on the fourth line, listless, I couldnt believe it is the same energetic guy from last season. I think they messed up with his confidence big time, hopefully he regains it in Rockford, but as you say, that should have happened months ago.

Playing on the fourth line with the likes of Reese Johnson and Entwisle hasn't helped. Sure Reichel has had a rough year, but Richardson is at fault too. Richardson wants him to score goals and earn ice time while playing in a fourth line checking role.

Everytime I see that guy Mercer in NJ getting dirty goals, I think of how that idiot Stan Bowman was told he was the better player to draft.....and then that idiot Bowman drafted Reichel.....and NJ took Mercer. The Hawks simply have to rid themselves of all traces of that idiot Bowman to become competitive again. That means 27, 23, and 4 have got to go. (Sadly, even 5 has to go too) 27 is totally lost, and simply doesn't work hard. How many games has he played where you never heard his name called until late in the 2nd period?

51 points in 55 games last year with the Ice Hogs. He has already earned 6 points in 7 games since his return. His team mates have perked up and they have been making some damned fine plays since his return. He is a damned good player, he just wasn't played to his strengths. Thats on the Blackhawks, not Reichel.
