That was a fantastic, underrated and downright creepy film. There was an episode of Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities that had similar themes and was incredibly disturbing. If you haven't checked out that Anthology series (available on netflix), I highly recommend you do so.

I grew up orthodox Jewish, and rabbinic/traditional Orthodox Judaism does believe in heaven and hell, also reincarnation. Judaism does not believe in eternal damnation. Hell is just a place your soul gets cleaned from “sin” before getting reincarnated, to better oneself in the next life. According to traditional scripture.
