Imagine what an amazing twist it would have been if, from that episode on, Randall Park played Jim and everybody acted like nothing was wrong, except for Dwight who was slowly dragged into the depths of paranoia and insanity. Then in the season finale, John Krasinski shows up playing an entirely different character. All the while, everybody else's subplots continue along the lines of the light-hearted Office standard.

I think once they stepped outside the norm into the mockumentary characters ‘real lives,’ that was when it hit rock-bottom, especially when they tried the divorce arc. I get they were trying to spice it up, but honestly that’s when you end it. I should also point out that while yes, Andy should have asked Erin if she wanted to come, form what I recall he asked if it was ok and she said it was. Her lack of willingness to just tell him either ‘No,’ or ‘Can I come?’ Was really frustrating. I did like Jim and Dwights friendship building and expanding.
