How does one, especially a new believer, distinguish between the HS and a familiar spirit? Some think they hear HS, but may or may not be. For example, a "prophet" knowing someone's address or other personal info.

I agree. Billy Graham held/stood in the Office of a Prophet. Giving globally/nationally the oracles of God of TheHolyBible. There’s the “gift” of prophecy; mainly utilized in the local church, however, many cessationist’s have severed the Office of an Apostle (church planter), and the Office of the Prophet. Which caused many leaders to steer clear. 💔

What bible verse calls it an office? Administrations of Holy Spirit for ministry of Reconciliation may be closer to the biblical intentions. Paul an apostle "served God" with his spirit in the admistration of the gospel to reconcile people to God. Gospel of "Peace with God" through faith in blood of Jesus.

The Gospel is the power of God unto salvation (Best correction available) The power of the Holy Spirit comes upon Apostles (sent ones) to prophetically proclaim the Gospel to the whole world and the power of the gospel will heal and deliver and cause a return to the path of Righteousness (Hebrew understanding of Repentance).

There is only one faith. So The Faith of the Gospel and The Faith of Jesus are the same thing. Acts 3:18. All the Old Testament prophets Prophesied the Gospel (The things Jesus suffered on the cross to save us from our sin). They focused on the Ministry of the Gospel. Reconciling people to God by returning to the path of Righteousness (lost obedience restored)
