The most heartbreaking line ever. "she said no by the way" the feels. too much.

I think what I liked about this on-screen romance was the fact that neither Tim nor Dawn were perfectly beautiful people but were real actors and came across like real people and that's what made it engaging.
@TheAdam15914 жыл бұрын
The 'um she said no, by the way' scene was just heartbreaking. I actually cried when they finally got together. When she opened the secret santa present in the car, while Tim is talking about her being the ray of sunlight in his life, that was so moving. What a great show.
@laminage Жыл бұрын
I know right. You pour your feelings out to someone and they reject you. At that time it was good for Dawn to go, Tim would have been a wreck if he had to see her everyday like that. Fans turned up their Remote Controls to listen to what they said. Ricky Gervais said he didn't want a monologue because he felt nobody would be satisfied at what would be said. Kind of how Charles M. Schulz never allowed Charlie Brown to know the Little Red Headed Girl, or kick that darn American Football.

I've always been a big fan of Jim and Pam's relationship on the american version of The Office, but in the UK's version of The Office Special Part 2 where Tim gives his speech about happy endings... man that was such a good clip.

A testament to the show that we can tell exactly what the characters are feeling just from their actions. No words needed. The only criticism I have for this video is I wanted to see Dawn's walk from the door before the last kiss. It's a powerful 10 seconds of film.

The US Office is nothing like the UK office, it's like 22 episodes a year versus 6! Everything is different, and JIM is American, where TIM is British, and that changes everything! All the actors have done a fantastic job, but the Tim/Dawn story is just classic, a totally unique moment in TV history.

Great Vid! I hate that there always has to be a comparison between the UK Office and the US version. They are completely different shows. I'm an American and I absolutely LOVE the original. For me it's fantastic awkward perfection! I have no problems with the US version - but subtle it isn't. As far as the couples are concerned... Jim & Pam will never and could never be Tim & Dawn! I was soooooo thrilled they finally got together at the end!

@The2010Generation I agree with you on that one. I am not American but I have been in the US for university for a couple years and I have to admit the average person looks nothing like the tv shows or movie stars. I managed to finish the British version earlier this week--it was great. Once I got pass the plain-Jane colours and "blahness" of the actors I really enjoyed it. The acting was very real, not forced at all and it all came together nicely=)

@princessrissy94 In answer to your questions, yes, Dawn is engaged like Pam, and there are a lot of similarities between tim/dawn and jim/pam, but's there's also a few differences. For example, when Dawn heads off to America with her fiance, it's three years before Tim finally sees her again in the xmas specials. And Tim and Dawn do get together, but only at the very end of the series. The whole show though is only 14 episodes long in total, so you can watch the whole story pretty quickly.

I'm new to the U.S version of The Office but one thing I like about about Pam in the U.S version is that she gets more comedic lines and is actually very funny. I'd still probably say I prefer the original British version as a whole but I reckon a lot of people that slate the American Office haven't ever watched a series, or even an episode. It's very different but there are some great moments.

I think the Jim and Pam storyline was really good in the earlier seasons when it was a lot more like Tim and Dawn's. Seems to lack the tension and any real substance now they're married and live happily ever after .. blah blah blah. For what it's worth by the way, I'm a big fan of both the UK and US versions, and I love to critically compare them without arrogant remarks..

The UK version is hard to understand. It's British humor. I'm not from there so I don't pick up on their jokes. I wish I could. Sometimes I have to put the subtitles on! :O I will say one thing, I saw the episode where Ricky went on a blind date and saw his date and said, "aw for fucks sake" I never laughed so hard. It's always annoying when someone claims others work as their own because the do some quick editing. On a side note, I've never seen the American Office. However, I don't see how realistically it can run for 7 or 8 or however many series it has done. The UK Office was short and sweet.

I'm in the US and I watched the UK's version of The Office before the US version aired. The UK version is much, much better. More real. Tim and Dawn had huge chemistry as compared to Jim and Pam who I find mediocre after seeing these scenes again from UK's Office.
