You literally can get hoses with 120v integrated on the hose so the switch is on the end of nozzle. cleans up the install and makes it a lot more user friendly being able to shut it on and off without walking 30ft . Cheers!

Love it, I think I’d go for the reel inlet at the same height as the vacuum outlet so that pipe wouldn’t be there. Half the fun of stuff like this is being able to tweak everything to your own liking. Hope to be able to grab one one of these days.
@kimnewling5728 Жыл бұрын
That does look good. I appreciate the noise level being low. The whole system has good anesthetics, and very clean lines. One of the better projects assembled OG.

Looks really nice! I would love to have it under the reel which would make conduits shorter and exhaust straight out without 90s. Great setup!

Nice work! I hope you de-burred those cuts on the pvc. I had a professional installer (and I use that term lightly) install a central vac in a house and he skipped that step. Those things catch a lot of dirt. Of course he also plumed the intake and exhaust pipes backwards, so.............................. Also, a thermal imaging camera should help you see into the wall.

Getting ready to install my system with the black Cox reel. What is the height of your setup from the ground to the top of the reel and bottom of the Vacuum. I can get close if that outlet is at 4’. I like how that is setup on the wall.

@ObsessedGarage Жыл бұрын
I get that. I just want something better for my garage. The thesis is that if I want it, other will too.
@Max-jv3yg Жыл бұрын
No doubt a Rigid vac will get the job done at a fraction of the price. IMO, the biggest value-add with this type of setup, especially the Hide-a-Hose configuration, is the convenience. For some of us, the time & hassle saved of simply being able to grab a hose and go to work is worth it. That said, I’d love to see some objective reasoning as to how this vac is different from all the others (ie. VacuMaid) because on paper, they look identical. What am I getting for ~$600 more?
@joebal9044 Жыл бұрын
Takes a lot of courage to cut the hose reel outlet to fit the pvc 90. Since I lack that kind of courage, I would have used a fernco to adapt the outlet to the pvc.
@MickeyM__ Жыл бұрын
so being plumbed to the outside, do you even need the muffler or could you gain more performance from the vacuum by removing it?

I have the Cox hose and it makes a horrible whistling noise. Is there a fix for that? It’s a bit better with attachments.
@herbpantaleon7485 Жыл бұрын
Make sure your hose end fitting are tight. Remember they are threaded to the ribs of the hose, so counter clockwise.
@tommygOG Жыл бұрын
It is likely due to the hose being on the reel still. If you have the hose wound around the reel, the air "turning" in the hose can make a whistling noise. Try pulling more of the hose out and see if that helps any.
