About 40 years ago, when the current site for the Bolonsiro Cemetery was made available by the city as a public burial ground, I was allowed to be present at one of the first burials.
At that time, no thought had been given to laying out paths and plots. The resulting chaos can be seen very well today and does not need to be described further.
But the main reason for the redesign that has now begun is that the chemicals used for embalming seep into the soil and groundwater. On other graves, another graub is placed on top by the families. Other families decide to open graves and bury their dead in an already used grave because of lack of space.
In addition, there is no more space and existing graves are covered with new graves when it is seen that a grave is not taken care of.
With this video, I would like to document these 40 years of burials in Cagayan de oro City, Northern Mindanao and not to forget who will soon have the new Bolonsiri Cemetery, Cagayan de Oro City, Northern Mindanao, Philippines, at the disposal of the city's population.
