This might be my favorite song from any musical ever. Granted, most of the time I'm listening to Paul McCartney, but still...

this is great, just great. On the original, I love the vastly different textures of the two soloists, it's a nice play on it being one character, having aged and gone through so much, so much later on. the rough edged voice sounds like experience compared to the clear-as-a-bell younger-self.

Sounds gorgeous, but a little weird to hear this song without the drum riff underpinning it.

Yeah, You and me both. Personally, I feel It would be kinda epic if they started with the show's full intro before going into the number itself. But, that's just my opinion. :) P.S. It's kinda nice that they have, though with one string more, the original string arrangement from the original orchestration to the 1998 Broadway production. That being: 3 Violins: 1 Concertmaster, and 2 Violins doubling with Violas 2 Cellos 1 String Bass(Which Doubles with a Tuba) Where as this arrangement has: 3 Violins 1 Viola 2 Cellos Just a little tidbit. Also, not to be negative, but I kinda also wish JRB and the show's original orchestrator, Don Sebesky, stuck with the original arrangement of the strings when they re-orchestrated the new material added to the Donmar/Mark Taper Forum revivals for the 2015 Concert of the show with Jeremy Jordan and Laura Benanti. Not that it wasn't GREAT hearing the older numbers in symphonic form, but that orchestration, I argue, sounds a LOT different than the original, and I was kinda hoping I would hear, or at least get to read, how the new numbers (Hammer of Justice, The Glory, etc.) would sound with the original 1998 orchestrations, which, I argue, give a more subtle but still full enough flavor to the score(Also, Personally, for those arrangements to be available for licensing to perform in the show). That's my opinion though, What do you think? :)

Can you imagine singing JRB's music while he is literally three feet away from you on piano? I would shit myself. K bye.
