I wrote I Believe In A Hill Called Mount Calvary in 1972. The song 🎵 was originally written in Flemish and translated into English by my mother. The first verse is about my father who was a heroin addict during the Hippie movement prior to getting saved. The second verse was about the domestic violence which I experienced as a child. The third verse is about the difference between two funerals of relatives. Sam Greenwald, the writer of The Great Gatsby was my father's uncle. His life was as empty as that of Gatsby. NO ONE at his funeral had hope. By contrast my Grandma Mae was a Christian ✝️. She lived a simple life but God helped her through life and at her funeral most of the family had hope of seeing her again in heaven. Yes!! The Cross ✝️ has life changing power! Praise be to Jesus!
