Well there were monks here during Paul of Thebes and Saint Anthony's time, so really it is debatable. And things from the Egyptian desert from that time are not all marked in the historic record.

Wow, you were hesitant to make this video because you already covered religion in Egypt? This is one of the most important places in Judaism and Christianity? And many Jews and Christians will never get a chance or the money to visit here. Literally the Ten Commandments came from here. A place where the oldest know complete bible in exhistance was found? A place where even Mohammed signed a letter, demanding all Muslims protect and not harm? All Muslims! he didn't do that to any other non musilim place. If you know the history of the Islamic invasion, that is totally unique. This place is of huge importance to billions of people. Glad you got over your hesitation to share with us who can't visit there any time soon, maybe ever.
