Really enjoyed your video - and I quite agree that 600 meters is very deep. But it all comes down to pressure. If you take a dive into the water from a sailboat head first, the pressure around the casing is equivalent of 100 meter. If you crawl in the water the watch will think it's down 30 - 40 meters. So it does have a point to what you do. 👍🏻 Love you channel

The best to know that unlike many watch KZbinrs you are fan of accuracy. A Watch must be measured with accuracy. A lot of guys ignores accuracy for the sake of mechanical watch and it is stupid. Good job again.

You punch a time clock ? If so,you probably ought to be looking at a Seiko. I own a Turtle 6309-7049, since 1984,so no disrespect. I live on a sailboat, and I dive a lot. Omega 300m master coaxial, no date,no helium escape valve. It's a gimmick. Unless you're James Bond. If you are, please don't kill me. Capt.Bob, SV 27th Chance, Tampa Florida.

I agree with nearly everything on this watch. I worry how thick this was. The 2500 - older ones were great proportions, albeit not “master chronometer.” The ETA mvmt in it (Swatch owned btw- pseudo in-house) made it thinner and easy to fix. Look at this guy if you want the OG aluminum bezel, thinner watch and cheaper first buy and maintenance. They only came in black dial and didn’t have the new “glide lock” bracelet. The new heritage with a lollipop second hand was my runner up.

Hey Nick, so glad I found your reviews of this watch! I’m turning 30 this summer and I’m going to take the plunge and buy a serious watch. I was interested in the blue Tudor Pelagos but decided for the money it was a little too casual, not something I could wear with a suit if the occasion arose. This has taken the top spot on my list at this point. Your videos have really captured the details without me having to go down to my AD (don’t want to take up a salesperson’s time until I’m closer to pulling the trigger). I’m wondering if Omega may release a refreshed version that addresses some of this model’s issues at Baselworld this year. Thanks again for the reviews, I’ll be subscribing for more!

For new listeners, this video is four years old. Omega has now moved away from discounting their brand. At the time of this video, most authorized dealerswhen pressed, would offer a 15 percent discount. Unless you are buying used, don't expect to pay below MSRP. And given the market trends, it likely that in a few years, many pieces by Omega will appreciate in value.
@gorryskyline Жыл бұрын
True. I bought 4x Omegas from my favourite AD in Melbourne Australia. These days high demand models there is a waiting list, forget about discount. Speedmaster mostly nil discount; Seamaster/Planet Ocean, if you are a repeat customer, maybe 10%.

I agree with about everything you state in this video, but regarding the size...you do know there is a smaller 39.5mm version too, right?
@NickShabazz6 жыл бұрын
Yes, but the movement is different. No independent hour hand (which is a deal-breaker for me at this kind of price) and a bit "taller". After trying both, I preferred this version.
@mountman53866 жыл бұрын
The blue dial 42mm titanium version has a "time zone function" which I presume is the independent hour hand? Omega's website really is crap for an enthusiast - I may be not a brilliant man but couldn't see pics of the back of the watches, and quite a few of the features are not explained in their own glossary! (like "Time zone function") To avoid confusion it's 232.90.42.21.03.001 since they have 109 versions of the Planet Ocean. . . The 42mm titanium may not have the fancy bracelet adjustment. In fact do any of the smaller Omega's feature that do you know?

Nice watch and good review. Not my taste, too big. I have a Railmaster I like but not really a dive watch. Heck save your money and get an Orient Mako USA II that is all you need at a fraction of the price. Except that cool buckle. Service interval is 5 years not 10. You can find the service price on Omega website. For this one $550 for complete service. I asked my boutique the manager said it takes 2 months for a complete service to get back. I make mine go overall average 0 sec per day. The watch is "fat" and I love it. I don't care about the He and it doesn't really bother me. Is the mat underneath solid or soft? That affects the weighing result. What's your normal wrist circumference?
@timothythomas16264 жыл бұрын
Lock Tight the dumb escape valve. People have been telling omega to offer a model without the valve. However Omega won't because they would then feel pressure to offer the the non escape valve model cheaper. And the non escape valve model is 99.9% of the sales. Meaning the majority would buy the non escape valve. Leave .001% of serious pro drives buying the escape valve. Yea it is all about "Look we added this other useless feature which make the watch more valuable. If they didn''t have James bond they would sink.

Stating a dive watch it too heavy and too big seems illogical. It's a tool for diving where weight and size are critical to survival...get a Aqua Terra if you want something smaller, lighter and costs less. Land dwellers don't need helium escapement.
@NickShabazz6 жыл бұрын
Then why is a Seamaster 300, with similar dive credibility, half the size and weight? What about the Rolex sub?
@inkeduped50056 жыл бұрын
The only thing that comes to mind would be the 300 is more in line with recreational diving and transitions nicely to casual and semi-formal attire, same for the Rolex. I view the P.O. as an underwater workman's watch for true underwater jobs such as film/documentaries, welding or construction/demolition. Big, rugged, can get knocked around. I have the Aqua Terra Green Golf Edition...I neither own a boat nor golf and for some reason this watch brings me a sense of amusement as well as being a great timekeeper
