Thanks for a cracking build. Set it up yesterday (non trial gear) and getting up to 60K in public dungeons. Only change I made was skill order to help me remember rotation. yes I'm old 🙂 1. Barb, 2. Blade, 3.Harness, 4.Puncture (repeat) then 5.Rad (at 20%). going to try it on vMA later then on to Trials for Whorl gear.

Not having Major Breach on a build like this seems like a bit of an oversight, especially in solo settings. I would probably switch out blazing spear or barbed trap for caltrops or Elemental Drain - but other than that, it is absolutely perfect! Thanks!

You get that in group. For solo, you can reach cap by using caltrop and power of the light. Depending on how many medium armour pieces, may also use force of nature slottable for extra pen and of course lover. Easy fix. Full pen. Good luck. Edit: TL:DR: 4 Mediums 3 Light, Caltrops, PoT, Lover.

I’ve been running a mag guild skill for the passives. With the ring, is there any reason to do that now vs switching to fighters guild? I’m running a lightning staff so will likely keep that ultimate but wondering if it’s worth switching to fighters guild for passives on my main abilities. Seems mostly a trade off of damage (FG) vs magika/mag recovery (MG).

For the hemorrhaging damage it does it is massive, though to be honest you can slap something like a morphed entropy in there and get some extra passive heals which also targets multiple mobs so long as you apply it.

How do you manage mana? Does the light armor absorb shield give enough when you are hit along with the gear/food you are using? I can't seem to spam skills enough without having to charge up using a staff.

food, potions on cooldown, light armor passives, CP, class passives. make sure you have all the passives, make sure you're using those potions as soon as you're able to to have max uptime on the regen they give

Weaving changes are tiny and I'm for it. Basic auto attacks accounting for up to 20 percent of my damage was silly. Longer dots sound fun as well!

hey is it possible when u visit some1 home to hack their chest? its just my acc is not hacked its secure but my alchemy chest was full of mats from years ago and new the chest is empty but not sure how long its been empty (i put some in today), i also noticed few other chests were empty 1 or 2, or did patch wipe them or did they wipe it with maintenance? its only the chests nothing is gone from the bank there are mats there to mats that i may need more if i make new char for example

Setting up this one bar build with the starter gear. Question is what can be used instead of Iceheart ( Head & Shoulder) that will complement the rest of this set up? That is the swap I do if doing more general farming, AOE trash etc. I only use RG if I know if it is a boss fight that will take longer than a minute, such as arenas or world boss farms

In terms of parses solar barrage is a little less damage and a more complicated rotation so I liked Radiant glory more. (use spear as a spammable for 4+ mobs btw)

On patch 35 Major force is being changed to Minor Force on oakensoul, with that in mind do you have an alternative last slot rather than barbed traps? My first thought is maybe vampires bane/reflective light for minor prophecy and minor sorc, which we dont otherwise havs

Question: Why would you use Power of the Light instead of Purifying Light for a magicka build in your written guide? I've been testing magplar builds for Oakenbroke and I tried using Power over Purifying just to see what would happen. I lost thousands of DPS for that one change. It's not a hybridized skill, it's based on weapon damage or spell damage (not both, like most skills currently are). And with this build, you're stacking into spell damage. You're recommending Ghastly Eye Bowl food, you're recommending all 64 attribute points into magicka. You're losing DPS if you're using Power over Purifying, and what's more, if you want to use the skill while playing solo, Purifying also has a heal built in. I strongly recommend rethinking that recommendation.

Odd that you get better numbers with purifying light, I found I got a slight dam boost with PoL over Purifying Light (running Deadly strikes and war Maiden). I tested it a few ways, in isolation one at a time, by doing the skill and then 3 sweeps each time and recording the results for 60 times each just to try to get rid of random fluctuation in numbers (then dividing the total by the amount of times I did it), then doing a few minutes at a time where I tried to keep up the skill once it ran out and otherwise just sweeping to try and simulate a more realistic use of the skill. Overall, I found in my numbers that PoL did slightly better in my tests. But one thing is def the buff that PoL provides. If you are not playing with a tank (or a good tank) having the extra Minor Breach is always nice. Not to mention with the skill costing stam you can preserve your mag pool a bit. Spread out your use of resources more evenly (granted not good for a boss with lots and lots of dodge rolling, found that out in HM on Castle Thorn). But if u get better numbers with purifying then def use it.

My guess is that you get fracture/breach with Power which is is the only way you can get that here. Not sure you really need the extra heal with jabs. The loss in DPS is concerning though.

@@marleypoppins-- I def noticed the Magick dam type of Purifying Light and the Physical Dam of PoL. That is why I decided to do some extensive testing to see what numbers I actually got. I was actually surprised I got better numbers with PoL. I also did the same with a couple of my CP points like Deadly aim doesn't buff my sweeps directly yet I was getting better numbers using it than my next best alt (Biting Aura) so I spent a good couple hours running tests to see the actual damage and I found I get better damage with Deadly than I do with Biting Aura (this was before High Isle hit). So I think it is buffing things like Burning light and some of my other skills which is why I get better results with it. I noticed the same discrepancy which is why I spent so much time testing it. Honestly, I am not sure why I am getting better numbers with PoL but I have spent a good bit of time testing it and that is what I find. If I could find the paper I wrote my results on around here I could share with you my numbers. But like I said to the OP if u r getting better numbers with Purifying then def use it but as far as I can tell I am getting better numbers with PoL but only by a couple K.

Most sets are hybridized now. You can use medium armor sets on Magicka toons by frontbarring the set (weapons and jewelry) and vice versa with light armor sets and stam toons.

good video i hate that u can't make a good long rage templar, that templar doesn't have good skills for it same with DK mage, close range mage just brakes immersion, mage should be long range (unless ur battle mage with med or heavy armor meaning also same bonuses as light armor), so fire breath should be 30m for mage

you can play it from lvl 1 on. just get the skills and the passives as you go :)

Templar is the only class you can 1 button 90% of the time, especially when u just questing… puncture sweep is King.

Appreciate all your videos. I solo a lot and my sustain is not all that, so I use Hexo instead of Nirn and my sustain is great.

try pillar on this build, your sustain is insane and your damage will go through the roof
