I already see the difference on the latch. Lol I've owned 2 and the mini morpho. Only have one now with my 10 diget last name on it. My others were stolen. Cops or inpound ? Love my 51 got flytanium scales on it now.

Most of those differences are actually not definitive, as you said. They're all things that changed or at least shifted over the lifetime of the 51. The G10 on both of my real 51s is smoother and more like that of your clone. A lot of that is probably just wear as I've had them for years, though I never carried the 51-1101 that much. My 51BK has the butterfly more centered, whereas my 51-1101 has the butterfly exactly positioned like your clone. One of four liners, actually, aren't even flush on my 51BK like you insinuate they would be on the real ones. But them's the breaks in manufacturing. Things slip through QC all the time. In fact, 3/4 of the liners on my 32 Morpho don't line up flush. The one major thing is that the font did stay the same on the blade steel and Benchmade marking when they moved it. The clone has the wrong font. Honestly, thanks for the video. It makes me interested in picking up one of the clones (they just dropped the red/blue and blue/gold variants for this run of them). My wife loves my 51s and I kinda wanted to grab another to customize and anodize for her.

All the clones I’ve seen for sale online have trainer blades, where/ how did you get a live blade for the 51 clone ?

When you click through the photos (on aliexpress at least) there will be certain pictures that are blank, but when you read the descrition for it, it will tell you the color and that it is a live blade.

Can you exhange parts between the real one and the clone? I sent my real BM51 to Benchmade for a fix of a broken liner but it turns out, they no longer have any liners to replace my broken one so I am thinking about getting a clone just for the liner. I'd be super greatful for any feedback

Benchmade doesn’t have any liners left? If that’s the case I would look into getting one just for the opportunity of it matching up. I should’ve checked if the holes lined up In the video. But I think the best way to fix it is to buy an used and extremely beat 51 and take one of the liners. Since you have the scales and blade already.

@@duckstuffedc Yea, that sounds like a good idea. Or I might just have to deal with a chipped liner and flip and use it without the latch (because it broke on the bite handle at the place that helps the spring loaded gimmick function). And Benchmade seriously has not a single one left lol. I was very surprised too but they did discontinue them quite some time ago so it makes sense. They will offer you a 350$ coupon for their site if you want to leave the knife with them tho.
