Yes, you can see the aurora australis from here! And the best part is that the national park + the area surrounding it are part of the International Dark Sky Reserve. There is very little light pollution :)

​@@kringlacson I doubt you will see it here there are too many mountains. For a good view you need to be on the coast wilth a clear view south to the south pole

How long you walked from parking area to the bridge at 7:04? and how long total from starting point and return?

Hi there! The bridge at 7:04 is 2.5kms away from the parking area. It took us an hour to get there because we were slow. If you walk without stopping though, it should take you 30-40 mins. The Hooker Track is a total of 10kms return :)
