Thank you for the very thorough preview / review of the book. This is obviously a must-buy. Using Tharbad as a base of operations sounds like a great idea for a campaign. The adventures in the starter set didn't appeal to me (a bit too "cozy" and trivial), but the landmarks described in this book ooze flavour, mystery and danger.

nice review, good overview. I think everything's there now to create your own landmarks and adventures. The landmarks explanation in the Core Rulebook (p221-222) together with all these landmarks give enough ideas I think. Also, based on the structure of a landmark you could make a table for each sturcture item

Yes, you can. But it would be nice if the book gave you some tools to help with the process. Have a look at the Forbidden Lands RPG. It's similar enough in style to TOR, that you can use the adventure landmarks and especially the random tables they give you with The One Ring.

Great review! People talk about this like it's publicly available. It's not, at least of late June 2022.

I agree with your preparation method. Sandboxes are the way to go (not railroad/plot arcs/choose your own adventure style 'adventures').
