Very good demonstrations! But can you explain more how to get the finger and wrist (for "finger vibrato) muscles to actually execute the vibrato? How hard to press on the string, angle of finger to string, direction of "force" (slide string along string vs. press into fret), etc.? How to develop speed of vibrato? Where best to put left thumb, etc.?

Good point and not just for gypsy jazz. I recently decame enamored of the playing of Doug Raney. Often he plays with a beautiful tone - very musical. I watched a video of his playing and noticed that his vibrato was a key element of that.
