XPO requires dock work. I was a line haul driver for 10 months. I made $71k (2022). 4-6 hours on a forklift each night was not fun. I quit and currently work for O'Reilly's. Full pallet drop. Overnight delivery

I don’t get it, was it the lack of home time that made the $71k not worthwhile? I got plenty of home time and did just over $70k for 12 months hauling hazmat regionally. It’s mostly labor. It was very tough - few hours here and there of forklift time and lost of strenuous labor. Lost of paid time sleeping in the truck, but I can’t sleep well in a moving truck. Paid hotels, didn’t enjoy that as they pay for your hotel to not pay for your time sleeping.

I used to work at Sysco…the invoice for the whole route would 50 - 60k but you only getting paid 300$ for the day

I Agree, i run LTL i manual pallet jack 10000 down the liftgate in the snow to peoples home garages. 😂 all in a days work. (Autonomous trucks are coming for steering wheel holders)
