My councillor was going to school in this field. Sadly he passed away last fall. (I only found out last month when I tried to contact him but couldn’t.)

If he finds it scary to not have the support systems in place around him in a hospital setting, imagine what it's like as a parent having to cope 24/7 - alone - at home with these patients, plus two younger children and No support whatsoever. This is the harsh, and sad reality of parent mental health carers in the UK

psychiatrists in the NHS mental health system should absolutely be taking a more visible, active role and in the worst case scenarios 'hands on' in managing potential or actual violence on their wards outside of an MDT setting. The reality for the layperson is that the bulk of reactive aggression is actually directed towards nursing and healthcare staff who are there 13 hours a day everyday and with increasing staffing cuts, bed pressures and underfunding of services forcing community professionals to admit people with risk profiles at times unsuitable for, but nonetheless into the acute setting we will likely only see avoidable violence against staff increase into the future. Sad times for the NHS.

why does this not have more views its so interesting. Also very solid proof that most talented psychiatrists have levels of narcissism and are probably fucked up too lol

Elaborate on how this is solid proof that "most talented psychiatrists have levels of narcissism", etc.

The psychiatrist irritated me - the hesitant speech.
