Yes, he abandoned his mains because of the contract he is with as a VTuber currently. It's kinda a company contract situation he signed and agreed upon before he joined said company. And that is for a lot of VTubers that join specific companies. He'll come back to his mains when the contract is over, he leaves the said company or something else happens.

I explain that in the video, he has disappeared from his main channels (Jordan Sweeto, SweetoToons, etc). I understand what you're saying, it's just tricky to navigate, especially in titling the video, it could have been a 'What Happened to' video instead but more accurately it's like he abandoned the main place where people could find him, and did something else that you aren't supposed to mention in connection to him (according to vtuber etiquette). I think there's a bunch of people who maybe saw his hiatus video and wondered if he was okay, this video is for them to say he is okay. I hope that makes some sense.

I think that companies generally don't like to acknowledge past lives so they don't break the immersion. It's just frowned upon and seen as a breach of privacy, unless they acknowledge it themselves.

@@marsii it's not only companies, it's just how internet content creation culture in general works in Japan. There's way more emphasis on anonymity and privacy than in the West, so Japanese indie vtubers, on average, also dislike it when somebody asks if they used to be XYZ previously (even if their previous identity wasn't corporate; it's like shedding skin and taking a new identity, they don't want the previous one) Plus, in the companies there's a risk that these reveals will lead haters to research and discover their locations, so it's partially to protect the individual.

I know she's collabed with Emirichu in the past but not lately. Emmi and Daidus now live in Japan and she's expanded her content o include some more IRL content. she hasn't used her Strawberry shortcake VTuber model in a while.
