Just go type r. People get one and swap type r parts to it, like I don’t get it… waste more money on mods for a 1.5L turbo can’t hold any power with its glass trans. At the end your gonna spend as much as the type r with all those mods and tune… but if you want one keep it semi stock and do proper mods and get it tune.

In Europe we only get the Hybrid and I calculated that importing a Civic Si from Canada would be just as expensive as getting a fully loaded Civic Hybrid here. If I could register the car in Germany and not Austria with our crazy upon purchase and annual hp and CO2 taxes I would probably take that deal.

The hatchback civic sport is also a good get with a manual transmission. You’re not gonna find an si for under 30k. You can find the sport under 30k. It also has the 2.0L NA engine with port fuel injection. Most likely it will outlast the si by a long shot.

Call dealerships and ask if they have any coming in if so they will tell you the wait time negotiate the price and put 500.00 down on it they are more willing to give a better deal before it comes as it will come as sold if they put on there website its a wrap because some people are willing to pay 5k-10k over

Prices will come down. I think by the fall we should see prices below MSRP. Of course dealerships will keep playing games. Definitely expand your search distance. I've noticed the further you get from metro areas dealerships are more likely to have better deals.

Your tellin me, i smoked one that took off before me when my 18 GTI was stock. It had mods but I dont think they were anything major probably just for more aggressive sound. I just didn't think I would catch up to him and pull off from him the way I did. Then again my main competitors now with a tune are V8s and inline 6 TT BMWs.

Nice review. Fair. I’ve looked at all cars in this class. This makes the most sense in many levels. The orange color is great. It’s not a race car. The beep is politely telling you not to destroy the engine. I’d choose Integra if 10 k was tip money.

Be careful my guy, the l15 motor is pretty weak man, I wouldn't recommend getting a ktuner / hondata. These motors are not strong like the k or b series motors they use to come with. Hell it's not even as stout as a d series engine.

​@Adam A. Yup Honda engines aren't what they used be. My 2008 si made 550whp in 2008 abused it for 6 years before selling. Motor never had a issue but everything else would grenade on high boost. I destroyed 2 transmissions and many axles especially launching it. My s2k is making even more stock engine same problems with trans and diff

I don't think most stock motors / trannys would last very long when you are doubling or in your case tripling the stock hp, especially if you are drag racing it. The issue with the l15 isn't that, you barely add like 50 hp and the thing is ready to blow.

I have a 2023 civic si and I love it but it’s outrageous how little features you get especially at the price point. The dirt and stuff you get on your seats or floor is ridiculous. Also as far as a sports car in todays day and age the exhaust is weak even in sport mode. Fake speakers are gross. The Bose system everyone praises has to be turned up fairly loud to mitigate the road noise heard. The gas is amazing in it though. I’m getting 29.7MPG with my AC on full blast and set at 68. If you’re not modifying it which I decided not to it’s an amazing car and lots of fun. If you’re wanting the reliable mod Honda platform get the Type R because the Si isn’t built with mods in mind and are blowing up. I also wish they’d screw off with the markup they’re wanting $40K where I live and I was able to get it for just over MSRP and at that price point you can buy so many other things. Wish Honda would stop allocations for those dealers.

The 1.5 takes so well to tunes. My 10th Gen SI I had got a TSP Stage 1 tune. It went from 205 crank hp to 236 whp, and all the way from 192 torque to 281. Just tune alone

Do not listen to the tuning companies. The L15 engine 100% WILL fail above 290 lb⋅ft torque and anything above 250 lb⋅ft is on borrowed time. Both the rods and the rod bolts are not not designed with a margin for tuning.

when you were describing the rev hang and how the car feels as if it’s not as happy under faster/more rushed shifts, did you mean that you experienced slightly notchier and crunchier shifts? i’ve had my ‘23 Si for a few months and depending on certain driving conditions and variables, i feel as if sometimes i get slightly crunchier shifts and i hate the way it feels.

No, the shifts were incredibly consistent and smooth through the week I drove the car. It was just the hang of the engine momentum that got annoying. Sorry to hear that :/ Not sure what it could be.

I had a 22 si, and it's a good car for a fun to drive gas saver. But it's a far cry from the 99 si I had when I was a kid. My si was one of the fastest cars on the road at it's time. You needed like a proper sports car like a mustang gt to beat my em1. The 99 si was barely slower than a boxter s on the 1/4 mile. I remember eating up v6 mustangs for lunch back in the day. The 22 si would get absolutely murdered by an ecoboost mustang in 2023. Nowadays the v6 accord will blow the doors off you no problem. The 22 si has the same 0-60 damn near as a prius prime and the base model camry. Honda has not done a good job of keeping up with the times. The si has had about 200 hp for about 16 years now.

the Si was never about beating people in a straight line, in fact what honda ever was? The Si was just meant to add some sportyness to the standard civic. The Si has also kept its price according to inflation for the past 30 years, and honda accoutns for that by keeping it around 200hp, If none of this suits you, they do have a ultra high performance Civic, its called a Type R

That’s why I bought the Integra, since I’m in the US. Plus, Acura tends to discount more in the US. Hoping the same for the Type S and maybe free up an allocation for a Type R. I agree about the trunk / hatch debate, but my second car is a Tesla Model Y. And while the Integra probably has some additional vertical space, it’s not SUV. In my model Y I can stick my mountain bike in it with front tire and all. In the Integra I think it would be difficult even with the front tire removed. The hatch area is not particularly high in terms of vertical clearance and it’s narrow. Lift in is awkward too.

@@billm47645 this was my thinking too, the Integra is a much better value and easier to attain for msrp, or even under like I did I wouldnt hold my breath for the Type S though because they will still be limited (6-7 per acura dealer per year vs 1-3 per honda dealer per year for a type r) and the markups are also insane- my local acura dealer wants $10k+accessories for their first type S. I also think even at msrp $52k is just too much to be spending over the FL5 for not a ton of returns on the street, and in some wats even less since you dont have the sporty seats or the FL5 track modes or even the shift light, but ymmv

As much as I have always loved my Honda's including my current daily driver, a much loved and very fast 2021 Accord 2.0T Sport, when shopping for an early retirement / weekend fun toy, the SI fell short. It's well built, it's peppy, it's a blast in the corners ....but it wasn't as much fun as I thought it would be. It's just not that fast, not that powerful and a bit too ....well, pedestrian / normal. Obviously, my Accord 2.0T is far quicker but it is also more enjoyable to drive despite the buttery sweet typical Honda shifter. In the end, I chose the top trim 2024 WRX Sport Tec 6speed. More power, faster, marginally more tossable, AWD , far more raw and loud and just more ....fun. I were buying a daily sports sedan, I would have gone to the SI but I have my Accord 2.0T and that is a beast. The WRX was more expensive and it's interior was not up to Honda levels of refinement, but I was looking for a fast weekend toy. And the WRX fit the bill and price.

I strongly disagree that Honda has an affordable enthusiast car. It's very difficult for me to see a 7 sec. 0-60 time as "enthusiast". My current car is the 2015 Civic Si and I felt so bummed out how disappointing the newest engine is. I decided to upgrade to the Type-R but the dealership wanted $15,000 above MSRP so I decided to get the Integra Type S at MSRP. I don't like that the price is double the 2015 Si price but I want to feel proud of my purchase and I can't feel proud of the current Si because of the wimpy engine.

Another factor I forgot to mention is that this is the end of the line for ICE vehicles and I really wanted my last one to be as special as possible. That's why I'm getting the fastest front drive vehicle of all time. It's something to really be proud of. I also feel very frustrated with how super slow my current car feels. obviously the Type-R/Type S can't compete with rear drive cars or especially with electric cars, but it will be at least a huge jump up from where I am now.

They make a TLX that gives you exactly what you asked for. And it has more power, more room, and a nicer interior. You can get an A-spec right now from your local Acura dealer assuming you’re in the states. They even have that same powertrain in a 5 passenger RDX if you want to sit higher while driving your AWD, auto, Honda powered vehicle. Edit: not more power than the type R, but the Si… just to avoid confusion. Edit 2: TLX and RDX A spec AWD start at $49,000 and $49,600 US respectively. No markups, on lots, available for purchase.
