Hi Shay! 😊 Your Magic Keyboard doesn’t charge. It takes the power needed from your iPad. The port on the side is just passthrough power for your iPad. I always enjoy your iPad content for this and the mini 😊👍 (Edit: The keyboard doesn’t use bluetooth either. It’s the 3 dots in the back of the iPad that pass all the key presses and mouse movement to your iPad 😊 Imagine plugging in a keyboard to your computer via USB. That’s what those dots do)

A keyboard is necessary if you plan to do a lot of typing, which I knew I would be doing since I was purchasing an iPad as a laptop replacement. I would not recommend buying one until you find that you actually need it!

How do you feel the white Magic Keyboard keeps up in terms of cleanliness? Is it easy to clean? I have the black Smart Folio and it smudges and fades pretty quickly.

Yes, it’s easy to clean. I use a little soap and hot water to clean it. Even after regular use, my previous white magic keyboard is in great condition after 2 1/2 years.

I found a magic eraser helps in keeping the keyboard clean. I was concerned with it getting dingy or stained at first but it’s held up wonderfully.
